So the rumour I was hyping up was correct! Strangely though, the announcements of The Fireman's Ball and Hard To Be A God stole the thunder a little, but I'll still be getting this of course!

I've never seen this movie but would like to, can't beat a bit of Connery.

For anyone who has not seen the film, trailer pretty much gears you up for what you'll get yourself into.

Trailer is has no spoilers by the way, although I wouldn't worry about spoilers, this film literally can't be spoiled no matter how hard someone could try, just try and avoid compilations and reviews showing the best bits.

Is that not the TT shuffle? Pre-order - open - buyers remorse - eBay

I was semi-interested in Zardoz but wasn't willing to drop $35 on it. Coming from Arrow in one of their typical awesome releases makes the decision much easier. I'm still going to hold out for a price drop, maybe in the $20-25 range. It's one of those titles I can definitely not pick up on street date but will add to my collection eventually.

I received this today, and making my way through the interviews. Interestingly, Boorman mentions the Zardoz head was modelled on his own features, which I never realised! There's an authorial stamp for you! Also, he mentions specifically the diffuse colours in the new master Fox did, and says that they're exactly what he and Geoffrey Unsworth intended, so...

Ol' Geoffrey loved his diffusion in general, many of his films have a kind of soft, filtered look to them.

I made the mistake, well I don't consider it one, of watching ZARDOZ again for the first time on DVD a long time ago after having a very long marathon of MST3K. From what I remembered I didn't much enjoy the movie the very first time I saw it even earlier, maybe on VHS or LD, most likely LD. But that time, maybe 10 or 15 years ago, I enjoyed the movie immensely due to having MST3K types of riffs going on in my head along with the quality of the DVD being in OAR.
So for now it's more than worth owning and I greatly consider it an unintentional comedy due to the low production budget and sometimes even flipping the scenes. Also one character I bet didn't have time to grow a mustache so they used a Sharpie, etc. Bit of a silly film but highly enjoyable. Great for watching in a marathon of 'We don't necessarily have the proper budget but we'll make the best of what we have.' sort of one. Even though it stands out a tad and you can tell John Boorman greatly enjoyed making it.
Just wished it had a MST3K or Rifftrax subtitle/audio overlay for it as a bonus. Certainly going to buy it in the next sale if the price is low again. Far better choice compared to the vastly overpriced and mediocre TT.
Thanks again MichaelB and Arrow for having the far better option! Will gladly own it in my collection in the hopefully close near future.
