Does Sony offer an extended warranty on the PS3 40 gig? If so...were can I get one, and for how much?

The best way to register is online via Sony's web page, and you CAN register online with your PS3 via the web interface, but it's probably easier to do it from your PC.

Also, I need to check on the extended warranty plan myself, because after further research I don't have one for mine. I have extended warranty plans on everything else I have from Sony and assumed that was in there as well. No luck over the weekend though, I have to call during the week. Everything I have found online points to extended plans available up to the PS2, and found no reference to one for the PS3.

The 40gb is only $400.00 but get the number to Sony and give them a call and they should be able to help you.

I was checking this link earlier and noticed that it did not state the PS3 specifically. It only stated up to the PS2, and that's why I wanted to call today to be sure.

After a painstaking wait with Sony customer service, I was told the first number I gave you was the incorrect number. The correct number is:

1-877-865-7669

The extended warranty is in fact offered for the PS3, and all you need to do is call the number above if you would like to purchase it.

Reference number for the call placed is: 071210-004788
