Default "Back to the Future" Courthouse Square: Building A Replica...

OK, here's the deal: I am currently planning to build a scaled-down replica of the Hill Valley Courthouse Square, from the first "Back to the Future" movie. Nothing material has been started yet, but I'm in desperate need of information. I contacted Universal Studios via email, requesting blueprints of the original 1955 sets...but a reply might take a while. I spoke to the official website's creator, and the studio has him very busy over the next 2 years...so, its up to me and whoever else wants to help. For now, I'm contemplating a one-sixth scale replica, which would make the Clock Tower building approximately six feet tall. I am NOT asking for money right now, only information and helpful tips. This will be my first time making any sort of detailed model; I'm not expecting to finish it for at least a year, likely more. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated; thanks!

Wow! What an ambitious undertaking! Where will you be storing this model? Sounds like it will be quite large!

I can't offer any advice, but I do offer you hopeful wishes in the success of your project.

P.S. Don't forget to keep us updated with pictures!

I'll have to build it one piece at a time, and make it sectional without the breaks being obvious. For example, I found a blueprint online, that shows the Town Theater and Holt's Diner street as being about 105 feet. At one-sixth scale, that section of the model would be around 17.5 feet. The highest point on that section would be the top of the Town theater itself, which would be 6.5 feet on the scaled model.

Thanks; something tells me I'll be needing it.

Will do, but I can't start construction on anything until I get full blueprints, and/or measurements from the Universal backlot. That's really hard to do, when you don't live in California.

OK, so here's my first hand-drawn blueprint, for Holt's Diner at full scale. I'll be copying this with the measurements reduced to one-sixth, before building anything practical.

I had to change some of the measurements for this blueprint, but after multiple tries, I think its finally done. One step down, many more to go...
