What is the point of having more than 1 controller for my PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. I own 15 PS3 games and only 4 are multiplayer, 2 are sports games, 1 is COD4, and the other is Guitar Hero. I have a 65" TV so split screen is still big enough for 4 people. I have my friends over for a night of drinkin and smokin, and we have to take turns playing my PS3... BS! Are they just assuming that everyone wants to sit at home alone and on the internet to play games these days. Even some games have pathetic campaign modes.

I just ordered 2 dualshock controllers out of Japan to go with my 2 sixxaxis controllers, and I'm starting to wonder if there will be any game other than COD4 that we can play 4 player split screen (+ you can't even add bots to the split screen multiplayer). I had to vent, cuz this is getting ridiculous. I don't want to have to be alone in my basement every time I feel like playing something other than campaign.

I can't wait for HAZE cuz the Timesplitters series had the best multiplayer customizability of any FPS I've played.

+1 I bought my second controller thinking there would be games to play 2 players on. It's absolutely ridiculous that games like Motorstorm don't have an offline multiplayer mode.

I hear you man...and I just heard that UT3 doesn't have split screen either...

Yep I know.

Hopefully Motorstorm 2 will have splitscreen play, and GT5 *if it ever gets to the US* should help too.

It's usually just me playing the games, but it hits me every time I have friends over that there's not much in terms of 2 player local games yet.

My biggest disappointment with this generation is that things have gone backwards as far as multiplayer in one room. I loved playing Rallisport on the XBOX360 with 4 people together and now the graphics are better, but the mode I and my brothers and friends liked has pretty much gone extinct.

At this point I've lowered my expectations to start looking for games that support 2 people on one system while online, so that my nephew and older brother can play from their house, while my younger brother and myself each play from our houses. I'm hoping that MX vs ATV Untamed will support that kind of mode, but realize I might end up disappointed.

As cool as Uncharted was, it would've been better if they had a co-op mode, and Elena was a playable character.

Virtua Tennis,

On the Ps3 they even left out the online play to help motivate you.

I wish I had a second controller for Virtua Tennis, but what would be even better is if I knew anyone who wanted to play.

The battery has pretty good life to it.

Occasionally I will have one of them charging why using the other so you'll always have a controller ready to use.

Guess you'll need to buy a Wii if you want to play together in the same room. Plus everyone says they make for some interesting druken video gaming.

Yeah, I just cancelled my order for UT3 for FIFA 08 because 1) I don't have any sports games 2)there is no offline multiplayer.

I want to play my ps3 with my friends when they come over. I just took that Ps3 underground survey. They ask you if you could have one thing to add to ps3, what would it be? I clicked "offline multiplayer." I hope everyone else does too so we can end this madness.

I can't wait for HAZE!!!

Resistance, Warhawk, NFS Carbon, Marvel Ultimate Alliance..... all fun 2-4 player, and cheap too since Resistance and MUA and NFS Carbon are a year old...
