This is possibly heresy, but I've always thought the love for Dream Warriors was a bit overblown. The first half is great but it all goes downhill from there. I can't take that 'I am the Wizard Master' bit seriously.
So yeah, a remake might be an improvement. Don't kill me. |

My GF and I rewatched this recently. It's both of ours' favorite Freddy movie. It has such a wonderful handmade quality to it: The makeup FX, the sets, the stop motion animation. I spent far too much of my time in high school drawing Freddy and other horror characters on the backs of my assignments, while the fronts went neglected. When she was a kid, she made a set of Freddy and victims dolls. I just can't see them getting the mix of horror and fantasy so right again (the rest of the original Elm Street sequels never did). I doubt a soulless modern CGI version would inspire young people to create things. I hope I'm wrong, and this becomes something special like the original.

[Show spoiler] ). I'm a H-U-G-E fan of the original series, and everything surrounding it (Freddy's bits on MTV, Freddy's Nightmares, etc..), but I still found somethings to like about the remake.

Of all the things wrong with the remake, Haley was not one of them. He was the bright spot of that film.

Could be awesome if they write a good script, hire the right director, focus on story/character development and cast some good actors who aren't just dead-eyed, shiny-faced, glorified soap opera understudies.
Or they could do the exact opposite and it will be an atrocious, CGI-driven piece of crap. ...could go either way. ...but probably the latter. Last edited by Ray Jackson; 09-30-2015 at 11:51 PM. |

I think this is the movie that got me to put 'Anything, Anything' on my MP3 player.. became a favorite tune of mine. I'm sure it was Dream Warriors, when the lead girl picked up the nun-chucks and started playing with them. |
