This is possibly heresy, but I've always thought the love for Dream Warriors was a bit overblown. The first half is great but it all goes downhill from there. I can't take that 'I am the Wizard Master' bit seriously.

So yeah, a remake might be an improvement.

Don't kill me.

In a perfect world, Robert would return to give us the Nightmare movie we actually want.

IN a perfect world they wouldn't remake movies like this and I would be married to Keira Knightley. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world.

My GF and I rewatched this recently. It's both of ours' favorite Freddy movie. It has such a wonderful handmade quality to it: The makeup FX, the sets, the stop motion animation. I spent far too much of my time in high school drawing Freddy and other horror characters on the backs of my assignments, while the fronts went neglected. When she was a kid, she made a set of Freddy and victims dolls. I just can't see them getting the mix of horror and fantasy so right again (the rest of the original Elm Street sequels never did). I doubt a soulless modern CGI version would inspire young people to create things. I hope I'm wrong, and this becomes something special like the original.

I thought he did an awesome job. Def a darker and scarier Freddy. Mind you in a huge Nightmare fan and I thought the remake was entertaining.

This isn't going to happen, there's no way. This film was too camp to be considered ideal for a remake, especially a remake that intends to revive this franchise. I just don't see it happening.

I'm also in this (small) camp. I enjoyed the remake for what it was, and was even able to appreciate some of the new bits they put in (the micro naps,
[Show spoiler]making Nancy one of the kids Freddy molested which added drive to her need to destroy him
). I'm a H-U-G-E fan of the original series, and everything surrounding it (Freddy's bits on MTV, Freddy's Nightmares, etc..), but I still found somethings to like about the remake.

Of all the things wrong with the remake, Haley was not one of them. He was the bright spot of that film.

Just No. The remake was awful just leave the Elm Street series alone the only thing they can do better is the effects.

Could be awesome if they write a good script, hire the right director, focus on story/character development and cast some good actors who aren't just dead-eyed, shiny-faced, glorified soap opera understudies.

Or they could do the exact opposite and it will be an atrocious, CGI-driven piece of crap.

...could go either way.

...but probably the latter.

No thank you! I loathed the remake and there's no need for another one.

I think this is the movie that got me to put 'Anything, Anything' on my MP3 player.. became a favorite tune of mine. I'm sure it was Dream Warriors, when the lead girl picked up the nun-chucks and started playing with them.
