Except those who knew enough to buy one of the best high definition disc players for either format, the PS3. I realize that some people don't care how good a player is and wouldn't want anything that could also play games even if it is (or was) the best player, but for many of the rest of us the PS3 has been incredible and probably more future proof than any HD DVD player too.
