Default What was the last Blu you watched and what did you think of it?

Hairspray.

Loved it. PQ and AQ were marvelous. There's singing, dancing, humor, John Waters as the neighborhood flasher. The packaging was wonderful. Lots of neat extras. John Travolta's fanny the size of his own Boeing 707's wingspan. Nostalgic detail in every scene.

What's not to like?

Thumbs up

I watched Immortal Beloved last weekend. I enjoyed it. The picture looked quite good for a '94 release and Gary Oldman is great in whatever role he plays. The music soundtrack was nice too. It's Beethoven for God's sake. What's NOT to like

I love period pieces in high-def

Eyes Wide Shut,

And I love it,.. It was worth it for the opening credits and that's just the beginning.

POTC III. Imagine that?

I had some trepidation about this one since so many people seemed to be disappointed in it, but I thought it was a blast. I can't dispute the gripes that it is hard to keep up with all the plot twists. And I can see why people are disappointed with the characters' screwing each other over so much, but I think that is part of their transition to full piratehood. Anyway, it's just supposed to be a fun, actiony kind of movie, and I like it.

I watched Underworld. The box says unrated version. I didn't see any difference from the regular version. I don't know, it been a while since i watched it. Anyone care to fill me in?

EDIT: I meant the extended version, not the PQ. PQ was great!

the last one I watched was........rio bravo. love the movie. dissapointed by the pq and aq. the searchers looks much better than rio bravo. but both have the same 1 channel of audio. amazing movies but wb needs to put more love into their work with these classics. still well worth getting on the b1g1.

I agree - I used the Searchers to prove to my dad how much better Blu-Ray looked over traditional DVD...but Rio Bravo didn't help the argument too much.

As for the last one I watched : Spiderman 2. Picture and Sound were great, as expected.

that's funny. I used searchers to convince mine too. its like being in monument valley. errrr I mean ''texas''. its not geographically accurate but it is beautiful. my dad was speechless when he watched it on his 52'' 1080p lcd. which he bought specifically for searchers and the wild bunch.

Cars. I couldn't believe the PQ! At times, it looked like a live action movie. The sounds of the racetrack were unbelievable, too!

Troy.

Picture and sound was great.
Was also the director's cut which I've never seen so it was awesome to see extra footage.

The Lookout. Not what I expected (thought it would be something more like the Departed or Lucky Number Slevin) but was very happy overall. Good story line, PQ and AQ.

The Tudors (Today)
Very good

The Simpsons Movie (Monday)
The best bitrate I've ever seen

Close Encounter (Tuesday - not finished)
Unfortunately can't understand what they said in spanish. No subs provided for spanish conversation, while they have sub when french conversation took place (not helping me because I barely speak spanish, while I speak good french - quite the opposite)

Behind Enemy Lines, for some reason I really like this movie. I wish(as alot of people here do) that I could have heard the DTS MA track though.....
