Anybody picking this up? Any reviews?

I'm interested, but I'm not familiar with "Elephant Films" and how good their transfers are.

Is Universal possibly coming out with a second batch of classic horror films from their heydays?

I have ordered both and will let you know regarding the quality. Several similar titles are DVD only releases, not sure why?

Possibly, since earlier this year the news got out they were doing digital 4k restorations of all the Frankenstein sequels. Probably next year is when the U.S. releases will follow. I've seen screen captures around from Son and it looks stupendous. Presumably they got their HD masters from Universal for their release.

I passed on the Invisible Man set because two of the films were SD. This one is going to take some thought. If Universal made HD transfers, I don't know why they wouldn't release another Monsters box in the US.

Universal made HD transfers of these films a few years ago, they were shown on Sky Movies & you can still buy them on Amazon (US) Instant Video. I'm sure they look great. I'm not so sure what 4K will bring to these very old 4x3 b/w movies. The 4k restorations that Universal are working on would make up a Frankenstein Legacy box set, probably for a Halloween '16 release.

...another set of films from Universal that were on Sky in HD were the Hope/Crosby Road To movies, & they're still available in HD from Amazon Instant Video, now that would be a very popular box set!

Received these today. The prints look great to my eyes, still some grain remaining in the restoration from the old prints thankfully.

The discs themselves are housed in clear plastic blu ray size trays with internal art (photoshopped montage of each film). Each has a 12 page booklet/pamphlet with behind the scenes photos, and text in French. Each also has a slipcover that reproduces the external artwork of the Blu Ray cover.

Extras are minimal: Talking head presentations by Jean-Pierre Dionnet, original (unrestored) universal trailers of 5 titles in the Monster Club collection in English.

And, most importantly, 'Yes' French subtitles are either Sans or Avec (whoo-hoo)

Thanks for the information. Amazon says these are Region B but sometimes they are wrong. Can you verify if they are B or Free?

Just reset my player over to Region A, and they play like a dream, so 'Region Free'.
