one of the last of the "Old Hollywood" icons gone, but what a career and what a well lived life.
Not many other actresses starred in as many stone cold classics as she did, and she exemplified so well that concept long ago forgotten in our society--class. thank god her films will live on forever, and hopefully more will make it to blu-ray in the upcoming years. ![]() |

RIP to one of cinema's great beauties.
Maureen O'Hara is amazing in The Quiet Man (1952), How Green Was My Valley (1941), McLintock! (1963), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), Rio Grande (1950), Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Jamaica Inn (1939), and Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation (1962). |

Maureen O'Hara was/is a very beautiful, classy & glamorous woman. If I had to live in another era it might just be the one she grew up in.
I enjoyed her in AGAINST ALL FLAGS which featured one of my favorite actors Errol Flynn whom she had known & admired since the 1930's. My absolute favorite movie with Maureen O'Hara in it is Miracle on 34th Street (1947)! ![]() I ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by hagios; 10-25-2015 at 02:30 AM. |

She was a legend that hardly any other actress could match. Read her autobiography a few years ago...class act. A lot of the current crop of Hollywood actresses should look to her as how to conduct themselves.

Great actress, and a great ambassador for Ireland. Such a beautiful lady. Sadly, I wonder how many people on this forum even know who she was. How Green Was My Valley is among my next movies ordered from Fox Connect.

I am sure a lot of people on the forums know who she is, at least I hope so, as this is a site for movie lovers. The problem is the masses. People who are casual movie fans probably have no clue who she is. That just makes me so sad.

I certainly knew who she was, but admittedly haven't seen a lot of what she did. However, I grew up on John Wayne movies thanks to my parents, so I know her best from The Quiet Man and McLintock!, and of course Miracle on 34th Street is a holiday classic.
There's another thread for her here, too, so this one can probably be combined with it. |
