"The nearly $200 million-grossing hit will receive a 1080p/VC-1 transfer on both formats...
As for the Blu-ray edition, Warner has confirmed it is to be the studio's first BD-50 dual-layer release. Though exact supplements are not yet known, it is expected to include the same goodies as the HD DVD and DVD versions."

Warner has set a $39.95 list price for 'Superman Returns' on HD DVD, and $34.95 for the Blu-ray.

Im kinda glad I got the HD-A1 now...because I'm still getting the BDP-S1 and the ps3 & 360 add on (which i'm still debating) are going to have to wait until around feb. 07'

This free's up money for plenty of flicks!

BD50! SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Digital Bits now shows that the Blu-ray Disc has the same extras as the HD DVD and the 2 disc DVD.

I hope they use the extra space to add even more to the BD version though.

And as an extra the BD version is cheaper by 5$!

How's that possible, according to the M$ and HD-DVD FUD these should be more expensive... :-D

50 gb + VC-1!!!!

Insane indeed.

Like I said in another thread, Now that BD50 are coming into fruition, I believe that Warner will begin to leave the TrueHD soundtracks on the BDs that they release. Hopefully they will all be like Superman and have identical soundtracks and extras.

The Bits is reporting the HD DVD will have TrueHD, but nothing about that on the BD. Bummer.
