I have all the Star Wars movies as MPEG-2 Transport Streams. They are 1080i with AC-3 sound and yuv420p color space. Is it possible to play this format on the PS3?
Also there is the problem of transfering them to the PS3 as they are ~9 GB in size and I believe the FAT filesystem only supports a max file size of 4 GB. I was thinking of using the Apache web server on my Mac, but I seem to remember that there is a file size limit there, too. Has anybody attempted to do something similar? If I were to transcode the files to AVC what are the most optimal settings for bitrate etc.? Would it be better to transcode to 720p or leave it at 1080i? |
