I'm going to be realistic and hope for the following:

The Round-Up (2K restoration shown at Cannes last year I understand)
Knights of the Teutonic Order (Krzyzacy) (A Polish Blu-ray of this is on the way)
The Cremator (MichaelB has confirmed that the Czechs are currently restoring this)

But certainly a partnership with Arrow could open up a few more doors.

Interesting. I've only seen the Second Run DVD version, and was none the wiser until now. If they released the same cut on Blu-ray I wouldn't have a problem. Otherwise, is there any chance of it getting a single, English-friendly release elsewhere?

It doesn't sound like Arrow will necessarily have any influence over what Second Run release (and the latter have proven that they don't need anyone to tell them what to do!) but I'd be surprised if titles like Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, Mother Joan of the Angels, The Third Part of the Night and The Cremator weren't priorities on the upgrade list - and I'd certainly love to have them all! I'd imagine that Daisies would be near the top of the list as well; I think I read that it's one of SR's best sellers and it has existing non-English friendly Blu-Ray releases elsewhere.

I'm not sure it can influence SR in terms of the choice of movies they want to release, but it might help them doing stuff they wanted to do but couldn't so far.

At least, I'm hoping for that !

Do they still have the rights for Marketa Lazarova?

Mother Joan ... would be immense.

Not much point as MB has already clarified in the Arrow thread a while back - would be cut in the UK. Best sourcing from the US.

The only one I've heard of in their back catalogue is Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, and a few of the documentaries. They seem like a good company though, I'll support them if any of their releases take my fancy.

I pre-ordered 'Something Different' from the Arrow store as soon it went up on there a month ago, and it still hasn't been dispatched despite it coming out on Monday, and it still says 'pre-order' on the store - not a very good start to their handling of Second Run's distribution and sales...

Did you order it with anything else in the same order? Some people have reported having their orders delayed if they pre-order things together. Either way it might be worth emailing them to find out why it hasn't been dispatched yet.

I ordered it, along with the Audition steelbok - neither have been dispatched.

Like I said, it still says 'PRE-ORDER' on the store.

Mine hasn't dispatched either. I emailed yesterday and Nicole replied saying she would look into it. As you say it isn't a great start and I kind of regret pre-ordering Horse Money and Mysterious Object At Noon.

Any of you guys had an update on Something Different? I saw it in my local HMV for just £9.99 today, which is cheaper than Arrow are asking for it. I'm tempted to just pick up the blu-rays in-store now if the prices are going to be so reasonable. It's a shame that Arrow have botched this, Second Run are a great label and it'd be unfair for their rep to take a hit because Arrow can't do their job properly.

Is there any word on other Weerasethakul titles getting released on blu ray? I've only seen Uncle Boonmee and Cemetery of Splendour and I loved those! This one is a must buy for me.

Cemetery of Splendour should be getting a Blu-ray release 'late summer' according to New Wave Films. As for any others? Well, Second Run released both Tropical Malady and Blissfully Yours on DVD, so it's up to them if they want to pursue HD upgrades of either of those (maybe they'll look into it of Mysterious Object at Noon sells particularly well). And BFI have Syndromes and a Century, and let's hope they decide to upgrade that one day.
