Thanks. I'll pass.
No epic music to remember. Movie is decent only til interval. It gets real boring. BM tried hard to copy MUGHAL E AZAM and DEVDAS and JODHAA AKBAR but came up very short. SLB should have buried the differences with ISMAIL DARBAR long ago for this movie. Lack of RAHMAN and DARBAR as music composers is glaring in BM. Even Akbar Khans TAJ MAHAL, the poor version of BM has memorable music by legendary NAUSHAD. |

^Well cant say i completely disagree but cant completely agree either. Relatively and audio-visually, it still was one of the best cinematic experiences of 2015.
I am eagerly waiting for the blu ray. More than anything for the first two songs Mohe rang do laal and Deewani Mastani - The kind of audio-visual epicness these songs had suspassed everything else in the film. |

Deepika, Deewani Maastani, what an amazing picturized song, i would get the blu ray just for Deepika's dance numbers, Pinga with Priyanka is also a must add to any blu ray library. The cinemetrogaphy and visuals of the palaces of Bajirao were very well done. It deserves to be in my collection can't wait.

I wonder of EROS will have their very first DOLBY ATMOS BluRay with BM?!
Historic battlefield palace drama movies are perfect showcase for DOLBY ATMOS. Eros RAM-LEELA had 7.1 DTS HD MA which was lively & punchy. Its time EROS steps up a notch and competes with SHEMAROO and RELIANCE with object based sound. Indian blurays can only compete in AQ with REM and BODEGA. While REM and BODEGA are forced to add 2nd soundtrack of german and french respectively for local audiences, Their choices may be limited for going beyond 5.1 DTS HD MA. Despite this JODHAA AKBAR had lively puncy 6.1 DTS HD MA. Eros DOLBY ATMOS and SLB Audio Commentary (since he claims BM was his dream project) will be a fitting home video incarnation for such a massive Boxoffice hit of 2015 year. It will be a game changer if EROS, who holds overseas rights for many bollywood BBs goes for Dolby Atmos Eros RAAM-LEELA BRD was one of the first ones and best AQ in 7.1 DTS HD MA. |

Amazon is so stupid. So ironical - this title is not visible if you click to see their pre-order page. Instead it shows up in the list of already released blu rays. If it was in right place, they could have cashed in so much more on the pre-order. It is after all the hottest and most awaited blu ray title of 2015.

As this is an EROS release, I foresee these risks (though I hope they'll never materialize):
- Opaque white watermark at select highlights (most probably at the start of each song/fight). - All extras in a separate DVD... in spite of having them filmed in HD. YRF too is very much guilty of this. - Non-inclusion of Dolby Atmos, as their last - Bhajrangi Bhaijaan, mixed in Atmos for cinemas - was stuck with a DTS-HD MA 7.1 track... Or worse, BM was released with tamil and telugu dubs too, and hence EROS, like what they did to Kochadaiyaan BD (or what Ultra did to PRDP), MIGHT forgo any kind of lossless option in order to cram those audio tracks in the disc. - Slightly blown out contrast - as seen in Ram-Leela BD - resulting in the colours not "popping" as they should. IMO, Eros could partner up with Reliance, like UTV did for their home video releases, in order to have their titles released as they should be - sans any watermark and with the original theatrical audio mix and HD extras (that one depends on the filmmakers' discretion though)... ^ Your suggestions are very good. But honestly u really think any home video company cares so much for these? The pinnacle of all examples is Veer Zaara by YRF. The film was made by the owner of the company itself and BD was produced by the same company's home entertainment division. if that could go wrong, then anyone can. I had extra-long email conversations with head of YRF Home entertainment and no matter what i explained in the most spoon-fed manner about black levels, he never understood and kept blabbering about using maximum bit rates. That attitude really disappointed me. Thankfully the good day came, god listened to the prayers and REM released a black-corrected version.
Now a days i have zero expectations and get surprised and happy with what I get if it turns out good. For e.g. EROS totally took me by surprise in Zindagi na milegi dobara BD it was so close audio visually to the theatrical experience. |

That's actually one of the few positive outcomes of studio interference. Excel was very much involved in ensuring that their titles - barring Dil Chahta Hai, which T-Series promptly f'ed up - got the best treatment on blu. Excel's Fukrey was released by Shemaroo (of all companies!) and that one was surprisingly devoid of watermarks. Last edited by kaykaysud; 03-15-2016 at 06:02 AM. |

I don't know if your remark is blu-ray specific, but if you include DVDs Reliance is very spotty, going from pretty damn good (Court) to underwhelming (the first Saheb, Biwi & Gangster) to outright atrocious (their Malgudi Days set, in which the discs rotted around a year after release, this is a very widely reported issue)
