Default The Fox BOGO, why now?

wouldn't this have been better last week?

We had harry and HD DVD had Harry and Bourne and a BOGO

We had a BOGO for the first 2 days and a shitty one at Best Buy. Why didnt they do this BOGO last week?

Edit: THIS SUNDAY STILL COUNTS FOR BOURNE WEEK!!!!! If your gonna get anything with the amazon BOGO or anything from the Best Buy BOGO do it today and help stop Bourne!

Who cares why they're doing it now as long as they're doing it. I'm hopping onto this one.

I know everyone wants to believe the only reason these deals exist is because of the format war...

But we should also consider that a lot of these sales exist because there's this little holiday next week called Christmas.

there is? wow

Just joking, I agree, I know many are new to AV and early adoption but the same thing was happening with DVD when it first came out. The normal evolution is
1)movie comes out,
2) several months pass at that price
3)price drops a bit
4) return to step 3

with new formats you can't do that, there are always new people willing to buy, so they keep the price fixed except for such sales which are there to revive interest in titles that are passed by.

Except for HD-DVD, who puts their big time blockbuster titles in their BOGOs and freebie throw-ins the week after they come out.

Wow, isn't it weird how there is a BOGO with Bourne Ultimatum the week AFTER it went out? That's like Disney selling POTC 3 or Sony with Spiderman 3 as well. Talk about trying desperately to win something.

Honestly, I don't even care if they win a week, too close to CES to mean anything if anything were to be announced, and frankly I don't think it would make a difference even if it weren't "too late" so to speak.

Honestly, I'm glad that a Fox bogo showed up. It gave my wife four more reasons to think I've lost my mind and that's always a good thing!

We don't need a BOGO to beat Bourne release.

Just release Monster Inc or Finding Nemo and it will beat Bourne for the whole 52 weeks!

I would not have bought the first three Die Hard movies, nor Robocop, on Blu had there not been this BOGO. With a BOGO, I bought them immediately. Fox is a bit pricey; but for The Simpsons Movie, I paid that price.

Honestly...my only "why now" reaction to this BOGO is:

I don't have anymore money...I'm really hoping there will be one after Christmas...because after this last week of 6 blu-rays in the last BOGO, all 5 Harry Potter individuals, The Shining, Blade Runner, and POTC 3...I'm all tuckered out.

it's funny how you see TF in the BOGO at stores...

that's like BD having SM3 in a BOGO

With both as catalog titles yes. As catalog v new release I think we've seen enough evidence that catalog titles don't sell that well.

Unless it was charged to your card on or before Sunday it's not going to count for the Bourne week though.

I wonder if Fox is trying these to see how well their titles sell at a drastically reduced price...maybe they'll lower their MSRP...

Their movies are real pricey. But if they're all look like prison break then it's real worth it. Picture was awesome.

I went to Best Buy today and got Mr.and Mrs Smith and for my free one I choose Mr.Brooks. I usely dont buy the FOX tittles at Best Buy beacause of the $34.99 price tag,but this deal was too good to pass up. Yeah I did pay $34.99 but atleast I got another $34.99 movie for free.
