Rohit shetty, Farah khan and Sajid khan are the shitiest directors bollywood ever had.

These 3 are responsible for taking down bollywood few notches content wise and quality wise.

I try to avoid rohit shetty cinema like a plague or ebola unless it is named GOLMAAL (2006).

To each his own I guess, I also heard a lot of criticism about Chennai Express for instance - and when I watched it, it was clearly a nonsensical movie - but it also had me laughing all the way thru (repeat watched this blu-ray some 10 times at least) - and if a movie is making me laugh that hard, it has succeeded - a lot of the so-called bollywood "comedy" is mostly crap - but this one had some uniqueness to it unlike any other.....but totally hated Happy New Year. I liked Rohit Shetty's Singham - thought it was very entertaining while Singham Returns was very bad.

I had the total opposite experience!

I walked out of CE after first 20 mins. Thats how bored I was. No story, no real screenplay, poor direction.

I found HNY to be entertaining enough despite being poorly directed, poorly acted, poor screenplay. Maybe because of good production values.

I found SINGHAM to be below average on Big Screen. Very poor chemistry between lead pair. Mindless cars flying. Poor direction. Poor production values. Poorly acted. Too much DABANGG wannabe.

Only Rohit Shetty movie that he found some rhythm in direction is GOLMAAL-FUN UNLIMITED (2006) with David Dhawanisque comedy direction. Good chemistry male bonding. Good acting by everyone except Devgan. Decent screenplay.

It is hard to imagine SRK has wasted his last 8 years of his career kissing up to Shetty Farah kind of film makers who are a joke despite seeing dizzying height of success with CHAK DE INDIA (2007).

Not a single SRK movie since 2007 is worthy of remembrance while Aamir gave RDB, 3-IDIOTS and PK. Even non-acting superstar Salman gave DABANGG and BB.

FAN and RAEES is such a welcome departure miles away from Shetty-Farah cinema.

Even if one becomes a memorable classic, this might just save SRK from his never ending mid-life crisis.

As you have mentioned this, I would like to share this article which says, By avoiding/rejecting great directors and working for/given importance to some other useless directors (Farah's shitty cinema), SRK limited himself, his actings skills and his capability of doing roles in various genres. He should work with better directors/co-stars. Today we have many skilled filmakers. A Wednesday, Paan Singh Tomar, Vicky Doner, B.A. Paas, Shanghai, Barfi, Kahaani, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Badlapur are great films.

The stuff you said is just the tip of the surface with SRK imo!

The biggest problem is him establishing Red Chillies VFX. And going into IPL with KKR. SRK the businessman took a front seat to SRK the actor who was trained properly on the stages of Delhi.

Pre-2007 SRK, the superstar worked with every notable director of decent reputation with exception of RGV & VVC. Gowarikar (SWADES), Sivan (ASHOKA), Palekar (PAHELI), Ratnam (DIL SE), SLB (DEVDAS), MSA (TRIMURTI), Sippy (DEEWANA MASTANA) etc etc. This is despite working with his usual circle of friends. yash, aditya, karan, mirza etc.

SRKs attitude towards Hirani after MUNNABHAI MBBS has been nothing short of narcissistic imo. Any non-acting superstar giving creative valuable inputs dont mean Hirani is not a sole reason for MUNNABHAI's blockbusters success.

SRK deep down know Hirani is probably the best storyteller Bollywood ever produced. His defience of not acting in VVC-Hirani productions and asking him to join Red Chillies directly resulted in him losing 3 IDIOTS (PK too probably) to Aamir Khan, a delhite college role SRK could've easily portrayed.

After the Hirani fiasco, the new breed of creative directors doing some incredible work like Kashyup brothers, T. Dhulia, Sircar, Dibakar, Bhardwaj, Kabir, Neeraj, Raghavan have distanced themselves completely from SRK "the businessman." imo.

SRK, the businessman needs to be signed before SRK, the actor which means Red Chillies's Gauri Khan will force herself into co-production. A lesser talent like ritesh-farhan EXCEL will collaborate (DON 2) but creative modern filmmakers will stay miles away from SRK.

A ultra flop garbage director like Sinha rode Red Chillies for free with a budget of 150 crores making below ave product.

Its impossible for me to imagine an actor of SRK's repute could not persuade Bollywood's best ever Sci-fi, superhero movie (MR. INDIA) director Shekhar Kapoor and give him full creative freedom with 150 crore budget. same SRK was able to put together a decent hollywood vfx sfx crew including Akon.

Bachchan bad years (1986- ???) and SRK bad years (2008 - present) has gone opposite. AB still worked with Bollywood's BEST in his bad years (P. Mehra, M. Anand, Tinny Anand, Desai). Mukul-Big B trilogy of AGNEEPATH, HUM, KHUDA GAWAH still trending very well on IMDB. Tinnu Anand's SHAHENSHAH is still a good solid entertainer.

SRK Bad years worked with average to poor directors (Farah, Farhan, Karan and Shetty). Hence, his movies are least remembered. Not even at the level of DABANGG and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN which are notches below 3 IDIOTS and PK in repeat value and becoming classics.

Or audiences should just move on to recognize and encourage other actors who are doing better work, instead of moaning about how star X is not doing good stuff any more.

Last couple of years have shown a good possibility of movies that go beyond the stars and focus on stories and characters, please reward those at the box office instead of giving 100 crore+ revenues to Dullwale. When I go by Metro cinema on my way to film retrospectives conducted at Liberty cinema, I still see this film running. SRK the producer is laughing all the way to the bank, why should he bother about a few people complaining online about his choice of movies?

Would not keep it in my collection if EROS sends this to me in a 'gift wrap' after they pay for S & H.

I find Varun Dhawan to be the ugliest new face with absolutely no charisma. Him along with Arjun Kapoor are spot boys dreaming of becoming a star thanks to nepotism.

There is one thing copying SRK expressions and style and evolving on your own (Shahid Kapoor).

Any movie with Varun and Arjun, I avoid their nepotism a$$ like a plague.

I played this last night. Colours make it a pretty nice Blu Ray. Actually quite impressive being a Reliance Blu Ray. The bulgaria shots look pretty amazing.

That's called "depth of field." Not everything will be in focus. It has nothing to do with the Blu-Ray authoring.
