Exciting to hear BBC's Planet Earth sequel is coming soon in 4K UHD. It should be spectacular and boost interest in 4K as the first documentary did for blu-ray.
"Shot in 4K UHD, the series used new technology like cutting-edge forms of camera stabilisation, drones, remote recording and new cameras to capture more and better footage." |

Oh yeah.
I agree, this would be way up there for me. The original planet earth, while featuring some great photography, actually looks kind of dated now as far as the blu-ray encoding. Wasn't much of it in 1080i too? I know some of those BBC documentaries were 1080i, and whether they are encoded in 1080p I think their source material was actually always 1080i (maybe I'm wrong on that). Can't wait to see what this stuff looks like in native 4K all the way. |
