This is really one of the best American films of the 1970s (yes I'm serious). It's a great mix of (mostly) comedy and drama. Joel Schumacher wrote this and co-wrote and directed the not dissimilar D.C. Cab. What I want to know is, where did Schumacher get his great feel for blue-collar working life (he started out as in fashion design and costume design)? Regardless, I am looking forward to this, starring a favorite semi-obscure Ivan Dixon, who in addition to being on Hogan's Heroes managed to direct hundreds of TV shows, very unusual for an African-American in his era. (Please note that Pryor and Carlin have important roles but they are part of a very large ensemble cast and don't have that much screen time. They are certainly not the main characters - Dixon is).

£20?
Quick as a flash - No cash I agree about the cover. No love for Antonio Fargas and Bill Duke (obliterated by Carlin on the cover)? That's who I always picture when thinking of Carwash. btw looks like Irwin Corey's bladder was ok - he's 101! Last edited by figrin_dan; 03-30-2016 at 08:13 AM. |

It's Region B locked. The transfer is . . . as expected, watchable. I hope to see a comparison to the Shout disc.
I just watched this and had forgotten how perfectly excecuted the Pop bottle scene was. And for those who don't have time to watch the entire film, there's plenty of it in here: |
