That looks so dumb, but the monster is sort of charming. I imagine the rest of the world looks at this movie the same way that Americans stare curiously confused at China's Monster Hunt. I believe it's from the studio who made Spongebob, so I bet the 3D will be great. Looks that way from the trailer.

Paramount knows this is going to bomb hard. They already took a $115 million write down on it back in September. Why they spent $125 million producing such a stupid idea in the first place is beyond me.

WTF!!!!! How on earth did they spend that much on this?!? No stars, movie looks fairly small scale, all we have is a decent if slightly cartoonish CG creature. Literally what are they spending that kind of money on!

Let's hope for good 3D.

Well, if it's already a bomb, it may not have a physical 3D release.

But remember The BFG was suppose to be one of the biggest hits of the summer and it flopped. So if they are claiming that this one is already a bomb, perhaps it will be a big hit. lol

The Box Office Pro website's long-range forecast for this film is out, and to quote, "Paramount’s action comedy Monster Trucks may became one of the largest financial failures in cinema history." They break down pros and cons of each film featured, but their pros section lists only "There are truly no positives to list here."

They're projecting a $22 million total domestic gross against the $125 million budget.

I saw the 3D preview to Monster Trucks a few times now and it's mild with some medium 3D layers, nothing remarkable. Disappointing since Prime Focus is the team converting it, the same team that hit the ball out of the park with the phenomenal TMNT Out of the Shadows 3D conversion. Their next project is Transformers, the Last Knight 3D.

I'd also wait and see what some of the Asian territories will do. They may have a version, as well, that's Region A for those of us here in the States. (No, I haven't gone region-free yet ... still planning on it.)

Prime Focus did the 3D conversion for this one. In the 3D trailer, the 3D looks mild to low medium, as probably budgeted for the 3D by the producers, since Prime Focus can do strong 3D if given the opportunity, as seen with TMNTurtles 2 3D in 2016.

Any links? I've tried the usual places, and none have it listed.

According to Michael Bay, TF is a native 3D project, not a conversion.
