I would guess that it will be the same composite-version that has been released on DVD in the US and the UK - meaning the long TV-version but using the more explicit scenes of the theatrical cut.

Quote:
The theatrical cut also aired on cable television and was titled Salem's Lot: The Movie for its VHS release. It was later released alongside A Return to Salem's Lot on VHS as a "Movie Double Feature". Warner Bros. eventually released the full-length miniseries on to VHS, as well as on DVD. The DVD release includes all of the extra scenes from the theatrical version, except the alternative scene of Larry Crockett putting Cully Sawyer's gun in his mouth.

Well we knew it was coming, it was on that Warner polling list (it came second). Germany is usually is the first to announce these Warner releases, but it'll get an American release first. I'll be buying this, it's a horror classic (there was a second TV version, very forgettable), my old DVD has a very flat & dated picture, I bet this'll look great.

Very exciting news indeed. I wish they could include the theatrical cut but if it is the full miniseries again I wont complain as that has everything and makes more sense (the movie is very erratic in parts and leaves out the epilogue).

Great to Warner finally stepping up with releasing not just Salem's Lot but It as well in the same month!

Great news.

Now when are we going to get the even better old horror miniseries, Harvest Home, based on the Thomas Tryon novel?

(The miniseries is actually titled The Dark Secret of Harvest Home.)

This has to be a typo since you must have meant to type Near Dark.
