The new Atmos mix done by Turbine is german only. The english mix will be the common 5.1 one, but at least lossless.

Christian Bartsch from Turbine told that the M&E Tracks were lost in a fire for the extended scenes. So they had to recreate some effects just for the extended scenes of the new german Atmos and 5.1 tracks.

It's great to hear that the extra scenes in the extended edition of the first film have been properly colour grade this time around and that the audio is lossless.

I wish they'd include the original audio mix though because some of the songs sound like different takes in the 5.1 mix.

No. But it was always released somewhat inadequately. The DVD was only the extended version (with inserted scenes in English with subtitles); the Euro BluRay lost the Extended entirely and contains only the theatrical cut.

The theatrical version has also been remastered to include English DTS HDMA 5.1 (the only version worldwide) as well as English theatrical stereo (DTS-HDMA 2.0) as well as German (DTS-HDMA 5.1 and theatrical mono).

Very tempting but too expensive. Would rather wait for "Just the Movies, Please", Edition. (Blu-ray cases or just one Amaray or regular multi-disc case.)

The New Disc is fantastic especially for viewers of the German dub.
I love that they completed the dub after so many years for the extended cut.

For English viewers its clearly the HD Sound which is the argument.

And they regraded the extended scenes.
They dont look so flat anymore. Much more dynamic in most of the scenes.

Some Extended Inserts are more tweaked then others.
The Picture has much more dynamics!

They also redid the Theatrical Cut Blu Ray in terms of audio.
They added original Audio (English 2.0 Stereo, German 2.0 Mono) and everything is Lossless now!
