5/5 for me. Theatrical was garbled, but okay. Director's Cut = Warner incompetence. They blew it.

It's a night and day difference between the theatrical and extended cut for me and a travesty that the ultimate cut was not the version originally released in theaters. I flipped through the theatrical cut after watching the UC and it seems really incomplete, WB really screwed the pooch with this IMO.

I give the theatrical cut a 3/5 and the UC a 4.5/5.

Not really. Home media is FAR more profitable for the studio than cinema showings and with word of mouth that the U.C is a major improvement, they'll easily make an loses up on home video sales.

the UC is a slight improvement, but it also introduces more flaws, mainly that it's STILL fairly sluggish and bloated, and now it's even MORE bloated. Even if that extra time actually helps the story in some ways. 3/5 for the UC over the 2.5/5 of the theatrical

It's just unfortunate they have to overcome the negativity from the theatrical version in the first place. How many people are even going to give this a second chance if they didn't enjoy it originally?

You're high.

This is one fantastic film. And I mean that. It's as good as it gets. Terrific. Special. Wonderful. Whatever adjective you might want to to throw at it. It's freakin' fantastic.

Oh, and Affleck is SO badass as Batman. Damn.

It is a shame for those involved with the film that all their hard work was arse raped by the studio, but then it probably happens with almost every film ever made in some way.

At least it explains sad Affleck

The only thing I completely disagree with is the film being sluggish. Even the bad theatrical cut of the film wasn't sluggish.

Agreed, the first 90 minutes moves really swiftly.

It just boggles me how incomplete the story is in the theatrical version. The IMAX release should've been scrapped, the blood edited out, and the F-bomb eradicated to allow this to be PG-13 and retain all the substance for the theaters. Honestly, there's nothing Earth-shattering about the UE cut, but it flows so much better and makes more sense.

Theatrical cut: 4
R-rated cut: 4.5 rounded up to 5 for the poll
