Universal Studios The Secret Life of Pets 3D Blu-ray (2016) [Region Free]

For all you guys in the UK

I see Zoom.co.uk has Secret Life Of Pets 3d up for pre-order.

http://www.zoom.co.uk/product/the_se...t_copy_blu_ray

Yep - yet another title that's only just hitting cinemas...guess it could be a type of market research...

*Not even sure why I checked Zoom, as they dont ship outside the UK!

I hope the 31st of December release date is a placeholder, it seems a tad extreme

Anybody watched this in theaters yet?
I saw the 2D ver this weekend and very curious about how the stereo version turned out.

the 3D and Alexandre Desplat's playful musical score are the best aspects of the film - on a really large screen the opening shot as we the viewers are swept across New York City's skyline towards Central Park made me a tad nauseous.

The 3D was medium. There were a few specatular popout sequences, but overall the 3-D was nice, but not very strong.

Secret Life of Pets Blu ray 3D pre order also on amazon.com for 29.99, but no release date set. I'd guess December 2016.
Thanks for the 3D reviews on this.

Thanks Revgen. Based on the 3D in the trailer, I agree, nice, medium 3D layers most of the time but with very strong pop outs that look awesome. The trailer had me jump back, along with Wild Life 3D's pop outs too, set for September in the US.

Saw this tonight. Fantastic movie with some great pop outs.
[Show spoiler]I especially loved all the scenes with the snakes. Beat pop outs I've seen in ages.
Highly recommended.

Yeah, the snake teeth in the trailer, very strong pop out. It's rare that happens in modern Hollywood style 3D films where the trend is sometimes to keep the 3D subtle to save money and not hurt anyone's eyes... Pixar is a good example of tame, mild 3D in most cases that would look amazing if they were more daring.

Mine arrived this morning. It comes with a non-lenticular slip cover. I will watch it tonight and give my opinion on the 3D ASAP.

I watched it last night with my room mate. I loved it and he hated it, but his opinion don't count because he is not crazy about animated feature films. He did like Zootopia though. So go figure. Anyway, the movie is lots of fun with lovable animal characters and the 3D is most enjoyable with some really cool pop-outs. One of my favorites of the year. I did have some blurring of the characters in high speed scenes. I guess I need to try and watch it with default 3D settings and see if that makes a difference. My settings are set to the max so I guess this could be the cause. I highly recommend this. It is a good one to show off your setup to friends.

Just finished watching this, and yes the 3D is very nice, good layers, depth and some before the window shots, with a few outstanding pop-outs
[Show spoiler] The snake shot
was one of the best I have seen in a long time, beating the star wars ship and the telescope from It Came from outer space of late.

My wife literally threw off her glasses and punched me for that scene. She wasn't happy.

Watched my copy last night as well and thought the 3D was pretty outstanding as well. That scene and the one with
[Show spoiler] the gator's mouth in the tube
were the standout moments for me

I replayed the snake scene about 10 times and it made me laugh every time because it looked like his tongue was hitting me in the face. Outstanding pop-out. The other scene with the multiple snakes in the sewer was impressive too.
