Predator is the number 1 movie I hope can be saved but realistically I think we're Sol.

Predator has a history of bad releases at least on its initial release on a new format so I can't see why that trend would change, but it should.

The Dark Knight (transfer needs a remaster)
Empire Strikes Back (HD theatrical cut)
Die Hard (current transfer is s***)
Predator (See above)
True Lies (still having to use a DVD in 2016 is sickening)

Everyone is going to list Predator and Batman Begins LOL.

I would also throw out Big Lebowski, Scarface, 12 Monkeys, Great Escape, Rio Bravo, The Longest Day

I would like to see Battle of the Bulge and Far and Away scanned in 8K from the original camera negatives (65mm?). Those films could be spectacular, but they basically had DVD transfers for the blu-ray.

Batman Begins/The Dark Knight
Amadeus
The Phantom Menace
The Fellowship of the Ring (theatrical)
The Sting

All of those badly need to be remastered (or saved), and 4K hopefully will allow it.

I wouldn't say the problems with Predator are a product of technology limitations, but of poor technology application. There's no reason Predator shouldn't be able to look great on 1080p Blu-ray (relative to the capabilities of the format); it just doesn't because it's been (repeatedly) poorly authored.

Ummm, that was an error in the first pressing. All subsequent pressings are 1080p.
