Never understood why the critics didn't like these movies, especially since Ron Howard is usually a critical darling...but either way, I always liked them and will def upgrade to the UHD!!!

Is the extended significantly improved? I remember liking this when I saw it in the theater.

Yeah the extended adds in some more blood and makes the overall movie a bit more intense. I can't remember if there's any significant added content, just little things here and there, but it adds up. Definitely becomes an R-rated movie.

it might not be 4K but just buying the extended cuts separately, which are inexpensive at the moment - just buy it, combine it and make it an uber-set - voila! (easy peasy lemon squeezy)

It will be interesting to see if this UHDBD has the same VFX glitch as the Mastered in 4K Blu-ray did (I don't remember the timecodes). If so, the 2009 standard BD will likely remain the definitive version.
