What are the odds this gets a Blu-Ray/DVD release?
I am a Prime subscriber but am also a Woody Allen completist and want to have this on the shelf with all my other Allen movies. |

It's live on Amazon Prime. Watching the first episode now. I love it!
...update.... Three episodes in. I know it's not for everyone, but I just love Woody Allen dialogue. I hope he does more! This show is a blast from the past! Last edited by Rodney-2187; 09-30-2016 at 04:23 AM. |

Bit of a cheat as this really feels like a Woody Allen movie just chopped down into 23 minute chunks. That said - to my surprise -this is actually the funniest thing he's done in ages. Even if, like me, you're a slightly jaded fan,it's worth checking out: It's most similar to MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY but better, imo.

Crises does have the same dynamic between Woody-Elaine May that was present with Keaton in MMM. I just think Crises is not nearly as interesting. It has some riffs on classic Allen jokes on religion and death that were done in better Woody Allen productions. The last two episodes are good while the first four are middling. All in all, Woody's weakest offering since Scoop. |

If this didn't have Elaine May, I would have bailed after two episodes. Their chemistry and banter was as sweet and easygoing as it was in Small Time Crooks, it's just a shame that they didn't have much of a rack to hang their hats on.
Needlessly padded and cursed with thoroughly unappealing performances from Miley Cyrus & John Magaro, it's easily one of the worst things Woody has done. If only he had found a way to spread the whimsy more evenly throughout, because it certainly was a hoot watching him & May jump across rooftops. |
