Default Beowulf on Blu-ray 10th March UK

Beowulf is coming to Blu-ray by WB on 10th March 2008
And with it being WB it's going to be region free

http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/...952758.product

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beowulf-Blu-...8350737&sr=8-2

http://www.sendit.com/video/item/7001000141658

And for the US buyers you can get it from send-it or Amazon

Paramount is the US distributer and Warner Bros is the international distributer?

Thats the only way it would come out in other countries on Blu.

Well if it is released by Warner internationally then it is region free meaning anyone can buy it and enjoy the film, although I don't know if the experience of Beowulf would be the same without watching it on 3D.

I guess WB's not all that bad. They've been screwing up alot lately, but at least they're helping us out by releasing some of these titles not available in the US.

They're actually region free, though. Check here to be sure.

VC1 isnt the problem, Disney already proved this with Santa Claus 3. It doesnt matter if Warner used VC1, MPEG2, or MPEG4, the problem is that they are only using 60%(30GB out of 50GB) of the Blu-ray disc.

VC1 is not the problem. Its the amount of space they use. If they used the full 50 GB with VC1, it would look as good as any Blu-ray. Instead we suffer from compression which causes bitrates to slow down at times and audio to suffer.

As much as i want this movie, i will wait for Paramount to return to the bluray side and then get the US release along with transformers, by then HD-DUD will be dead and paramount can use that money they got to re-encode all thier movies for BLU ..how many more months 13? something like that i can wait, i have at least 30 movies by March that i want

Thats the other thing. I expect Universal and Paramount to just take the HD DVD encodes and shove them on a Blu-ray disc once they are release fro Blu.
