I think this will be the only one I'll get in the series because of the IMAX shot scene.

Dolby website, theatrical movie Atmos

I saw list
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Do you think Liongates will remix Atmos on THG:Catching Fire UHD?

Hoping the 1.78:1 material makes it through to this release. Should look rather stunning considering it already looked pretty amazing in 1080p

If it was theatrically in Atmos, Lionsgate will more than likely port that mix to the UHD version.

The fact sheet I got from LGF suggests 4K version is fixed 2.40:1. No expanded IMAX sequences. Atmos for all 4 films.

Only 'Catching Fire' had real IMAX, correct? Shame it won't be included as the reveal of the IMAX footage was one of the best examples of aspect ratio switching I have ever seen. It's a smooth transition I almost missed while watching.

That'll really suck if it's true. And it makes no sense either. If the Blu-ray can get the 1.78:1 ratio, why wouldn't the UHD? I could understand if the Blu-ray had originally gotten the shaft that the same would happen to the UHD, but the newer format's transfer shouldn't be inferior.

I suppose I'll still pick it up assuming the Blu-ray that's included has the IMAX ratio. I'll just have to flip from the UHD to the Blu-ray the moment Cinna gets assaulted.

Here's what the fact sheet says

Wonder if it was studio or Francis' decision.

Weird. I'm glad the Blu-ray maintains the dual ratios, but this is yet another screwup by Lionsgate on a catalog title.

Same, but even then I'm a "maybe."

EDIT: No IMAX VAR, no sale. More money I can spend elsewhere.

Good informations. Let you know about it.

FAKE IMAX - 2.20:1 to 1.78:1 for IMAX scenes (Digital IMAX screens)

To be precise:
IMAX 15/70 and IMAX Laser Digital: 2.20:1 to 1.43:1 for IMAX scenes
IMAX Digital: 2.20:1 to 1.90:1 for IMAX scenes
Standard Digital and 35mm film: 2.40:1 (no aspect change)
Standard 65mm (5/70): 2.20:1 (no aspect change)
IMAX Scenes: about 100 minutes of the movie

I made an Excel file for this movie:
