The first two movies both got extended cuts on home video so it's disappointing that there's not one for Inferno.

Agreed. I was hoping for one too.

To say the truth this movie didn't need an extended cut. Maybe an alternative ending to be the same as the book which was LOADS better.
And WHY, why that butt ugly poster for the cover? Hanks doesnt even look like Hanks. The back cover image is WAY better and in line with the previous movies... *sigh*

[Show spoiler]In the book, the virus isn't actually a plague. It just sterilizes 3/4 of the world's population slowing the birth rate. They are actually unsuccessful stopping the virus and it is released throughout the world. Felicity Jones's character also survives, regretting her decision in helping with the virus and helping the WHO in the end if I'm not mistaken.

That's one of the worst artworks I ever seen. And I didn't know that was Felicity Jones. With this, Rogue One, and Monster Calls, she was everywhere in a 3 month period lmao.

It's ugly, but it was the US one-sheet art for the film in theaters. I try not to complain when they base their covers on those.

Picked up the 4K steelbook for $27.99. I got The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons 4K for $14.99 each. It was a special Best Buy is doing if you buy all three. It's a $20 discount.

this went out of theaters so fast. Had no chance to catch it. Also it flopped so badly domestically that this is likely the last Langdon film

$220M worldwide off a $75M production budget... US ain't the only marketplace that matters anymore.

What are the chances of a boxed set in the future?? I don't own any but would prefer a set at some point.

There are triple packs in Canada and Europe. I looked at one in store today and it's in a thicker case. It doesn't give all the specs so I don't know if it has any of the bonus discs that were in the individual releases.

There's a three film set from Canada.

Watched this movie last night and really enjoyed it. I would put it as the second best only after "The DaVinci Code". The series is making money with the bulk of views coming from overseas.

According to CineBlend, The Lost Symbol is still a possibility!

I would really love to understand the profound breakdown between an international audience that is still eager for these films and a domestic one that has totally (and unfairly, IMO) turned its back on them. I'd hate to think it's an indication that American audiences are too dim for action thrillers with a collegiate pedigree.

I've often wondered that. I kind of thought that maybe because going to the movies is still a special thing in other countries. I have no data to support it, but streaming really isn't a big deal overseas, is it?

I really liked this movie (despite the filmmakers' lack of guts to stick with the book's original ending). I was so disappointed that it didn't do better domestically.

Despite that, I think it was right call to skip The Lost Symbol. That book was simply terrible IMO and no amount of movie wizardry could redeem it.
