The 2016 Pioneer Elite SC-LX901 has a list price of $3,000 (flagship receiver for 2016). It also has many HDMI inputs that offer HDCP 2.2 with 4K Ultra HD Pass-through. The 11 channel amplification is awesome for those consumers that want to do a 11.2 DTS X or Dolby ATMOS setup.
This is a very nice Pioneer A/V receiver and Pioneers first with 11 channel amplification built in. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox/StaticFiles/PUSA/Files/Home/SC-LX901_Single_Sheet_FINAL.pdf Last edited by HDTV1080P; 10-28-2016 at 06:11 PM. |

I have this in my home theater! It is a very nice receiver, the only thing I don't like and its more of a preference than anything....I like in the older models, how you can display the audio format on the display. The LX-901, only shows the input source. I have looked through the manual and online! No joy!

I opted for the SC-LX801 model to finally update all of my gear to 4K compatible. Managed to get a nice discount, too. The 801 will be here tomorrow. Busy weekend of tearing apart the entire system and reconnecting everything (including programming our new Harmony Elite remote).

I just got this receiver and I am having issues getting the OSD to display on my tv. It has come up only a couple times. The rest of the time my TV displays "no signal" if i hit the home button on the receiver and go back to my source the video is fine. I can see the volume and a/v quick menu overlay on my video source. I have tried different ports on my LG Oled, different hdmi cables, different output setting on the receiver.. I have done a full factory reset on the receiver, same issue. Everything else seems to pass through the receiver Ok. But the On screen display does not. Anyone here have any suggestions? Thanks.
EDIT* I noticed when the OSD display popped up briefly that it displays at 720p. The blue "no input screen displays at 1080p". Could the receiver be outputting a signal my tv just doesn't like? Or could this be an issue with the receiver itself? It's strange that it has worked a few times, but one time my tv was on "no input for over 15 mins before the guide magically showed up". |

Try the troubleshooting suggestions in the manual. Also try turning off the video processor in the Pioneer A/V receiver and have the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player pass the native 2160P signal. Make sure all HDMI cables are 18Gbps bandwidth or higher.
It might be a issue with the onscreen display handshaking issue with the flat panel screen you are using. Try another small flat panel screen to see if the problem can be reproduced. If the same problem on another brand and model of flat panel, it might be a cable issue or defective receiver. Sorry I do not own the same equipment, therefore I do not know exactly what is going on. |

The only thing that didn't work was the OSD. All other signals including HDR passed through fine. I did disable the menu overlay and 4k upscaling but still had this issue. Latest firmware, two factory resets, hdmi secondary output... and still the same problem. The second that I pressed the "home button" my tv would loose signal. I press it again.. and my source would come back fine. Sometimes the guide would show up after about 13 seconds of no signal. Other times it would never return. I tried different ports on the tv, i even tried connecting another monitor. On the monitor I got a "OSD is not supported message please contact support". I am in the process of shipping it back to where i bought it for an exchange. Hopefully the new one has no issues. ![]() |

Let us know if the new one has the same problem or the issue is fixed. Personally I have had problems with several other brands when purchasing a A/V receiver brand new, I have never had problem with a Pioneer Elite coming brand new from the factory. Of course any A/V receiver can have problems, but on a flagship Elite product with a 2 year parts and labor warranty, one would hope for no problems.

I'm experiencing an issue now with the LX901. When i turn it on after it's been off for a while, usually (overnight). And I turn it on the audio is distorted like a digital distortion fluttery sound coming through all speakers. It has happened on optical and hdmi inputs. It happened once a week ago and then it did it again Friday, Sat and this morning. Every time I have to turn the receiver off and back on and it fixes the issue. After that audio seems fine, I watched a couple movies afterwards with no issues last night. But, turning it back on this morning and it happened again.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Could this be a bad DSP chip or decoder or software related? I'm afraid this could get worse with time. I hate to have to send this back again. This is now my second LX901. ![]() Here is a video of my issue i recorded a bit of the problem as it was happening. |

HI, all I have the 701 and loving it
![]() ![]() But to get it was ALL drama and lies from BB ![]() First off my wife was buying it for me for a Xmas gift. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() He said u can order it and it will be here on BF. When Friday came she got a email from BB saying it won't arrive until Dec 1st. WTH, no way!! ![]() ![]() ![]() So, on Sat the next day my wife decides to go to BB at Christiana Mall. And she saw all these Elite Pioneer boxes around Magnolia stacked up. She didn't know for sure which one so i'm glad I sent her a pic. They had 3 701"s sitting on the floor chillin'. So, she told the clerk what happen at the other store in Dover. He just shook his head and said, "you should have just come here, Because they get most of their stuff from us anyway." So, he cancelled that order and she re-brought it there and brought home. Smh, what they lie for that was stupid ![]() As long as I got it i'm a happy camper NOW ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

On this 701 I was trying to get the display to show either Atmos or DTS:X but it flashes then goes back to BD/DVD. I looked at above question about the Auto/Surr button. But my remote does not hav such button.
I'm watchin' Atomic Blonde it seems like the sound is a bit low. Meaning on my old SC-25 at volume -40 which was perfect. But on this new 701 its now on -35 and still seems low but, Ok. ![]() I went on Pioneer site to check power output and the 701 does have less power ![]() Suggestions on display ![]() |

Question for everyone I have the SC-LX801 and I’m not getting any audio or even the test tone when I attempt to calibrate it.
Anyone know of any fixes for this? |

Make sure the speaker wire is secure and connected(Also make sure the speakers are not disabled in the A/V receiver menu). Then unplug the A/V receiver power cord from the wall outlet for 1 minute and then plug it back in. That will do a reset on the system without erasing your settings.
As a last resort after you have tried all the troubleshooting techniques in the manual, Go into the A/V receiver menu and do a factory reset that will erase all your settings. A factory reset should fix the problem, if not the A/V receiver might need to be repaired by a authorized Pioneer service center. |

Hola,
Saludos, |
