USA Flesh For Frankenstein AKA Andy Warhol's 3D Blu-ray (1973) [Region Free / B Locked]

Flesh For Frankenstein has only been released on 3D Blu-ray in the USA and Germany. The US disc from Vinegar Syndrome is REGION FREE while the German disc from Plaion is REGION B LOCKED. Both editions also include 2D, 4K and anaglyph 3D versions though the German edition has more special features including the director's commentary. There was a replacement disc for the original US edition but it was the 4K disc only - there were no issues with the 3D disc. All other releases worldwide are 2D only.

Original post:
I am hoping that Scream Factory or one of the other companies will release this title. I saw it during its re-release during the 80s wave of 3D movies. It had some of the best 3D effects (I saw all of the 3D releases with the exception of The Man Who Wasn't There and Parasite. I'm hoping that if Jaws 3D does well, other studios will see the potential of releasing these catalog titles in the format in which they were intended to be seen.

This would be great, but the director doesn't want to spend any money on it , to get some issues fixed

I'd love to see Flesh for Frankenstein in 3D too. I was thinking about seeking out the field sequential DVD version soon as there seems to be difficulty dealing with Paul Morrissey.

Frankenstein's Bloody Terror (La Marca del hombre-lobo) and Electra One (Con la muerte a la espalda) are two others I'd be ecstatic to see transferred but have little hope for.

That's not quite the same as Blu-ray 3D! Both films actually had nice HD transfers on 2D Bluray in Japan with minor censoring. However, Frankenstein's only proper 3D release was on VHD in Japan in the early 1980s.

I am quite aware of that. I posted this in case anyone would be interested in checking them out. I saw them when they were released. I thought both were awful movies, but I was not a fan of Andy Warhol movies.

Several years ago, there was a rare UK uncut broadcast of Flesh for Frankenstein in the colorcode 3D format. Somebody actually capped it and it's out there somewhere. It's not full HD but the colorcode works very well. Colorcode was a failed attempt to bring 3D back to TV before the blu-ray 3D technology took off. It's basically anaglyph but with yellow and blue filters. The depth works very well actually. Of course you need to find some colorcode anaglyph glasses. It's certainly far better than the field-sequential transfer from the old Japanese VHD.

I'd be interested in seeing the Colorcode version. Bet the picture
resolution is far better than any previous release. (Only if it's in
3D of course.)
I have a field sequential 3D VHS tape (yes VHS), and am quite
happy with it. But if something better comes along, I'm game.

I taped the Colorcode version onto my HDD machine, but that bit the dust a while ago and won't boot up anymore. It looked pretty decent from what I remember. I still have the glasses somewhere. If this got a 3D blu ray I'd buy it without question.

The blu ray does look worse then the DVD, you wonder what the point is of releasing it.

I still have the 3D version recorded from when it was shown on TV, I really wish this film would come out on 3D blu ray...

Out of curiosity, was it a HD broadcast?

Do a search for Paul Morrissey and 3D under this site (it will explain how he basically wants this to be done at no expense to him)

Why not some crowdfunding option? It worked well for September Storm and I think it's safe to assume that the potential audience may be larger for Andy Warhol's Frankenstein (The original 3D title)
