I was going to jump on the group buy list for this but now I dont have to sweet. I am shocked they are offering both steels for this. Why haven't they done that for all the other ones?

Glad to see the option for regular BluRay on this. Unless its part of a series that I already have Steelbooks for (shakes fist at Bourne and Suicide Squad), I will likely be passing on the 4K offerings due to price.

Do the 4K and regular Steels differ in sizes in any shape or form? Cause I see the 4K steel also includes regular blu ray.

Well, they did for The Huntsman: Winter's War, but that was it. They initially announced Jason Bourne as being two different steels, but they ended up dropping the standard one.

We'll see how this goes. I hope it sticks. But I'm fine with selling the 4K if need be.

I like the art. This would be a blind buy, so I'm looking forward to this steel.

Jason Bourne and Suicide Squad are both the same size as regular BluRay steels. Once the JCard is taken off they are identical (I dont recall if there are logo differences on the spine though)

I'm glad they are doing this because now they will see the difference in sales between a 4K SteelBook and a BD SteelBook.

Hopefully this will discourage 4K SteelBooks in the future.

I am fine if they do both...something along the lines of blu ray/4K 3:1 stock. I mean they sold all of their store stock for Huntsman and Ghostbusters local to me so seems dumb to force 4K steelbooks on people.

I get you can sell the 4K disc and all but not everyone feels like going through that hassle to recoup some dough.

I don't care if they do but I think doing 4K only steelbooks is pretty dumb. First not everyone is willing to pay that the premium for 4K and second they are losing out on the unsold copies.

No reasons not to do what they did with The Huntsman and Ghostbusters if they really feel the need to push the format.

There has yet to be an actual 4K disc only release. The steelbooks so far and normal releases have had both regular blu-ray disc and their respective 4K UHD disc.

I get that but you are missing my point. They are FORCING steelbook collectors to pay a premium because of the 4K disc and I am sick of hearing just sell the disc to recoup money. Yes that can be done but not everyone wants to go through that hassle.

If BB only offers 4K SteelBook choices, I will shop elsewhere if there is a cheaper BD option. That is a sales loss to them and if 4K SteelBooks don't sell as well as BD SteelBooks, hopefully they will realize that they will actually move more product without the 4K disc in the SteelBook.

4K collectors are still welcome to purchase the 4K disc separately!

Well that is easy, I won't be buying them. Judging by the amount of these 4K only steelbooks that are left at the 4 local stores around me makes me believe these are not selling too well.

I like steelbooks and all but I am also OK getting non steelbooks or importing if this will be the 2017 trend for BB.
