A banner popped up on the movie page when i was in the Google Play store. 50% off any movie. Offer expires on January 23, 2017. Good time to pick up the Star Wars collection for cheap. Now I need to find a Disney movie to port over.

Question: Does anyone know of any Disney or Pixar or Marvel movies bought ON Google Play that will redeem automatically into DMA? I am trying to find official word on it, but no dice. iTunes does it. Vudu does it, but Google Play can't give mt a straight answer.
Vudu least indicates the DMA DRM on their products, but Google is just a guessing game. I tried it on the first Avengers movie and ended up having to cancel my buy on their end and re-buying it on Vudu so I got the DMA unlock. |

I've purchased the avengers, CA and many others on GP and had them port over immediately. I think the rule of thumb is if you find it on the https://www.disneymoviesanywhere.com/ page, it can be purchased on GP and port as long as they are linked.

I have been unable to use split payments on GP (i.e. GP Credits and a CC), even though the website says they allow that now. I don't know if its because I've been purchasing DMA titles and they only allow it on certain things but I was able to buy the SW bundle with all credits.

EDIT: Add Tron to that list. Just bought with the 50% off and immediately ported. Last edited by AnemicOak; 12-22-2016 at 03:41 PM. |

All of my previous purchases from iTunes and Vudu show in my Google Play account, too. |

But then, I think only Vudu offers DMA unlock on Avengers and Captain America: The First Avenger. iTunes is a maybe, but GP doesn't seem to. I was tempted by Star Wars, but I'll wait until I can get it on Vudu for cheap. I think the only Marvel title I'd get on GP if it redeems on DMA at that point would be the Iron Man Trilogy (but I think they, like Captain America: TFA and The Avengers, pre-date DMA add-ins). |

What I am trying to do specifically is buy the film for cheap with the coupons on Google Play, then have it so that Google Play purchase unlocks on DMA. My Google Play account is definitely sync'd with DMA cause even my latest purchase of the Avengers on Vudu's side from a week ago is showing on GP's and DMA's side. The issue is there's no indicator of a movie on GP's side being DMA enabled. Because the Avengers did not work for it, and I am of the mind to believe that Captain America: TFA won't work either if either are bought strictly within Google Play. Other Disney movies may work, but I think it is in how they were made available. Avengers and Captain America: TFA, at best, had iTunes-capable Digital Copies for themselves physically before DMA became a thing, but nothing for Vudu or UV or DMA use. If you own the sets for Avengers or Cap 1 that have those Digital Copy codes and disks, you can go through iTunes and it'll DMA-unlock them for all of your linked services. But Google Play hasn't gotten itself updated with that as far as I can tell. Last edited by TheLaughingMann; 12-22-2016 at 04:06 PM. |

The first one I found that didn't work was the Avengers. Buying it on GP last week didn't DMA-unlock, but buying on Vudu at full price DID DMA-unlock. Vudu -> DMA (if the DMA flag is on the title) iTunes -> DMA (if the DMA flag is on the title) GP -> DMA (maybe, depending on the title since no DMA flag can be found anywhere to determine that) DMA -> Vudu, iTunes, GP (if the accounts are linked/sync'd) That's the best diagram I can make to explain what's going on. I want to get Captain America: TFA, but if I can get it digitally for a few bucks, that'll be worth it. |

Usually I get an email, but I already redeemed one about a week ago, so I may only get the music one. But thanks!
I just wish you can upgrade Sd to HD via Google Play, but you still can't. It boggles my mind. I wanted to get Iron Man for half off, but I couldn't purchase it because I had the SD version I bought years ago. |
