I won't bite on these empty database entries. Last year they also added Amazing Spider-Man, never came out.

I still have the old faulty BD so this will be a nice upgrade for me, IF it comes out that is.

Happy with the remastered Sapphire edition, don't care enough for this movie to upgrade. But it should look great for those who want it, assuming Paramount doesn't botch the first go-around like they did last time.

My #2 favorite movie of all time?

Of course I'd upgrade!

I have the NED steelbook which I acquired after the fiasco of the first release, the NED version having the same transfer after the Sapphire re-release.

But I'd readily dip again for the 4K.

I believe Gladiator was scanned at 6K for the blu-ray so I'm all in.

Although with a movie I've seen as many times as this one, in an era before HDR, I'd be curious to see how it affects the UHD.

It was filmed in 35mm, I don't think so - although I do remember it was scanned at 6K and worked on as a 4K master for the blu-ray release.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong though, and I don't have a source beyond "my recollection"

I believe the first movie to use a DI was O Brother, Where Art Thou?, which came after Gladiator.

It's probably more accurate to say it was the first movie to be entirely digitally color graded, since according to the cinematographer, the final master of the movie wasn't digital, but recorded onto film reels.

Gladiator did not use a DI originally, but it was remastered in 4K some years ago.
