The 3D was pretty bog-standard in the first one, short of one bit involving popcorn, I hope the sequel pushes the 3D more...

There's a lot of "gimmicky" shots that have opportunities.

In theaters this weekend, Nut Job 2 3D. This looks like it has much potential for the 3D, check out the shot at the end with the mouse flying in the air at the screen and all of the popcorn flying out. This has been poorly advertised, as I haven't seen a single ad for it yet other than searching for the trailer online, not even a preview in theaters either.

How was the first one? I didn't see it but the 3D looked average from the trailer I saw back then in 3D theaters.

I'm right, apparently. Mike Reyes from Cinemablend liked the 3D, but he loved the Before the Window, as he enjoyed objects protruding the screen, but the best scene for him is this:

The theaters here are only showing the 3D version at 8/9:30 at night. Pfft.

I would think they would have them in the early afternoon considering that is when most families go.

Seriously, such a poor decision of any theater to show a 3D showing of a kids movie at night time only on opening week. Unless they don't care or somehow make more money with 3D at night.

Has anyone heard anything about a US 3D blu ray release of this one? I see it listed on all the popular UK sites for pre-order (Zavvi, Amazon.co.uk), but nothing for the U.S. yet. I guess this is another one that the United States is getting the shaft on?

The UK may be getting the shaft too - I went to check on my Amazon pre-order and got a 404 page not found error... it's no longer listed on Amazon UK.

I asked Amazon UK and they told me it simply sold out but that my order was still activ. Then they refunded my shipping and gave me a £10 GC for my inconvenience.

Rock!!!

I also ordered from Zavvi just in case. Its reassuring that it’s still up several places!

Strange - it seems that this listing has gone from Zavvi now too - however my "pre-order" is still showing, guess we'll find out soon enough whats up with this title - release day is supposedly December 4.

I contacted zavvi about this Monday and they replied with this:

"I can see that we are trying to get more copies of the 3D DVD in question in stock however I am unable to give an exact date.

We are hoping to get them in around the end of next week.

I would advise keeping an eye on the website or possibly subscribing to our newsletter, which often informs readers of items that we are getting back in stock.

I hope this has helped to resolve your query.

If there is anything else that we can do then please get back in touch."

I will certainly keep checking and place a pre-order if it shows up. I heard nothing but bad things about the first movie. So I borrowed the regular blu ray from my local library and hubby and I were pleasantly surprised. It was pretty good, something we would watch again so I am buying it in 3D and want to get this one as well.

I mean I've seen alot worse (ie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 1 & 2 and Storks)
