United Kingdom wuaki withdraws from being an ultraviolet provider

https://ukwuakitv.zendesk.com/hc/en-...to-our-service

Well 1 less ultraviolet That leaves talktalk in the UK. Flixster is only on my phone and not really worth mentioning. Sony I got to have their TV and not an option, Need to see if I can get a kaleidescape device but the way its been going how long till ultraviolet is no longer in the UK.

It's not good news for anyone? How can UV grow if it can't provide a service in major countries like U.K, Germany, Australia etc?

Yes, you're right it's not good for anyone. Even in US, UV is inconsistent with UV titles not being available at all the different providers, titles disappearing from UV locker and support passing the buck to providers when issues arise. If they can't get their game straight in US then they have no chance in other countries.

To me UV is like a Back-up, the only Provider I care about is Vudu. As long as the UV Code Ports over to Vudu I'm happy. Otherwise I don't worry too much about the UV Locker, I just keep track of all my Digital Movies on Vudu and they are doing a great job.

But without UV, how can you invest your trust in Vudu. If I am correct, Vudu is owned by Walmart, yes? Super stores are volatile and they aren't going to back a format that fails to show growth.

We had several mega super markets in the UK that have just folded and closed up their Digital HD locker/store.

Always sad to see a UV provider leave.

It's actually a better bet going with ITunes or Amazon in the U.K. I think they are starting to wind down UV now. It's been a huge failure in the U.K IMO.

I just buy Blurays as usual and if the day comes when discs are no more, I will go with Now TV (subscription) and or Netflix, Amazon, ITunes, or even Sattelite with Sky movies to own. Sky's service is the most popular Digital HD service in the U.K by far. If Sky wants to, it could easilly become the leader in next gen subscription services. They need to have a reality check and lower their prices first though.
