just got mine in from amazon germany took about 2 weeks to get to canada. video is mpeg 4 avc. its got german and english audio dts-hd master audio 2.0. subs are german only. both movies are on 1 disc. its a 50 gb dual disc with 38.5 gb used. only extras on the disc are the trailers for both movies.
video seems like they didnt mess with it in anyway. id post a screenshot but not sure how power dvd dont let u take a screenshot and if u try to do a print screen it just comes out black. |

just finished watching the first movie. its pretty much what ud expect from a 90s movie. there is little bits of dirt and specks here and there but nothing hugely wrong with it. they didnt try to mess with the video to get rid of grain or anything like that. the sound quality is good and clear.
one thing if u order from amazon.de and aren't in an area that gets free shipping id say try to see if u can find a couple other movies u want to order with it. they charge 9 euro for shipping but u can add a bunch of other movies without the price going up more then 1 euro so it helps to average out the shipping cost. |

Disagree with above, Universal did mess with these transfers, they both have EE applied as per alot of their transfers. No visible Dnr though, thankfully.

Why are there still no screen caps anywhere? There's a US release to compare to now. If it's the same thing, I might as well look for a source of import.

I'm planning on ordering from Grooves-Inc unless someone can suggest a store with better shipping options. I refuse to use Amazon's Euro trash sites until they stop using ****ing Asendia and at least use something with tracking. Screenshots would be nice though.

The only one guaranteed tracking is the express option, which is beyond ridiculous. I can get stuff from Japan in 3-4 days for $14 (FedEx!), but the Euro/UK Amazon sites want like $35 for the same level of service. I'm still waiting for someone to explain that shit. Does FedEx/UPS not exist in Europe?

Ordered this along with the German edition of LORD OF WAR. When they come in I'll post some shots for you guys asking. Not a bad price considering the first by itself is almost the same here in the U.S.

I bloody love the German language. It doesn't beat around the bush with this title!

Goddamn that looks terrible. I'd keep my DVDs if they weren't 4:3. Why are so many of these 90s movies so goddamn heavy on grain in comparison to older movies like Jaws, Dirty Harry etc that look great in HD!?

EE is main culprit which exasperates the grain on films which were already heavy in the grain dept to begin with, although its not as bad as having it Dnr'ed as well.

Not to mention that the films you speak of have undergone restorations and remasters over the years and more than likely were filmed with a higher grade stock. Honestly, I'll take these over a DNR waxfest anyday. The colors on Problem Child 2 though are the biggest issue for me. Everything is so drab and muted. I mean, of course it might've been intended to look that way but I have a hard time believing that. These aren't intricate works of art. But either way, for the price and the upgrade over the DVD, it's not terrible.
