Default A New Master Audio/DTS-HD/Panasonic '10A Issue Has Evolved...

While a fruitless search for the answer on this issue, from this and other sites, again did not seem to definitively answer this issue, let me explain something that has been brought to my attention and has confused me even further on this subject...

Let's take the whole PCM/uncompressed/which one is louder than another issue out of the way for a moment -- I was just informed by a member of another board that the Panasonic '10A MAY IN FACT have an onboard update from the factory which will allow DTS-HD tracks to be extracted from the DTS Master Audio streams -- NOT JUST the "core" DTS mixes....

If so, this is of big concern because I just finished getting what I thought was a concensus on leaving my Panny on bitstream or PCM for Master Audio playback -- given the assumption that the player was extracting the DTS core mix all along for these titles. Originally, I had been keeping the "DTS-HD" audio output of the player on BITSTREAM, after being told that EITHER WAY, bitstream or PCM, all my receiver would be seeing was the extracted core DTS mix from these Master Audio tracks....THEN, I was informed that indeed the DTS HD signal IS being extracted from these Master Audio tracks, and since the Panasonic CAN support DTS HD, I should keep the setting on PCM so that DTS HD signal can pass to my receiver....THEN, I was recently told again that THERE IS NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM THAT THIS PANASONIC WILL EVER EXTRACT ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE DTS CORE FROM THESE MASTER AUDIO DISCS....and I was ready to, yet again, switch my DTS HD output to BITSTREAM, because this setting sounds better to my ears for core DTS extraction.....

But now another member just informed me, on a Panasonic '10A settings thread, that there was perhaps an update Panasonic put in after the manual was printed that would allow DTS HD TO BE EXTRACTED FROM THE MASTER AUDIO TRACKS....and that is why when we press our remote buttons for the onscreen display during Master Audio playback, the screen reads "DTS-HD MULTI...."

Can anyone please confirm if the '10A is running with an update which EXTRACTS a DTS-HD stream from the Master Audio tracks and sends THESE via PCM to a receiver? I know bitstreaming of the HD mixes is not possible; but is keeping DTS-HD on PCM the better way to send the Master Audio tracks?
