From what I can tell pre-order is on Jan 24th and release date is Feb 28th. The regular Fullslip will be about $41 USD and the Premium Boxset will be $61.

Now my big question will be is this the same disc as the recent Japanese release or will it be like the older US disc? Also, will there be any English in the books?

I don’t think so (English text). The SAC sets didn’t, I think... (didn’t get them when they were $50 each and am regretting that decision)

But yeah, if it has the new disc, I’m all in! The set looks nice, so depending on that, may be a potential purchase.

I know what you meant. I just posted the disc specs in case someone can figure out which transfer it is.

Without knowing which transfer and English subtitle script this release is going to use, it's hard to determine if this a good purchase or not.

For the sake of reference, note that the most recent Japanese re-release of Ghost in the Shell costs $40.xx shipped via Amazon.co.jp currently.

I've bought it 3 times in all. Once on DVD and twice on bluray. None of them look as nice as this.

We don't know. There's a lot of questions and answers about it on their Facebook, but it's all in Korean. Google translate isn't helping me much either. You can take a look if you want. One guy asked about it, but the answer didn't make sense.

2017년 4월에 일본에서 발매되었던 공각기동대 블루레이 염가판에 들어가는 영상이나 특전, 부록과 동일한 구성인가요? 아님 추가되거나 빠진것도 있나요? 영상의 화질이나 해상도는 어떤가요?

2017년4월에 발매된 일본판 블루레이 부가영상과 비교하면 메이킹영상은 국내판과 동일하게 들어가고 그외 CM영상(프로모션영상으로 판단됨) 프로모션영상 각각 30초 미만 영상들은 제외되었습니다. 국내판만의 영상으로는 저희가 직접 촬영한 감독인터뷰 영상이 약 40여분 추가 되었습니다.

Okay, I know absolutely NO Korean, but do know some Japanese, and by using context, i think I may have an answer.

The '17 4 refers to April of 2017, which was when the cheaper and improved GITS JP BD was released by Bandai, so I'm assuming it's 1:1 clone, save for the English dub, which isn't here (and really isn't that important to begin with).

Again, know basic Japanese, ZERO Korean- but if it's taught me everything, look for context to find an answer.

I just purchased the Premium LE ($60) from Nova.
Shipping from both Nova and Kimchi is essentially identical but with Nova, I accumulate points (=$).
Kimchi states the LE is "Lenticular". Nova doesn't mention it but since every pic on both sites is absolutely identical, I trust the Nova one is as well.

I have a suspicion these are not gonna be around for very long....

That might never happen. If one does come out later I will buy it too. I also already have the Mondo steelbook.

I just don't see this being available for long after preorder, considering it has both movies, and 3 books included
