Disney Thor : Ragnarok 3D Blu-ray (2017) [Region Free]

In 2018 Thor Ragnarok was released on REGION FREE 3D blu-ray worldwide except in the USA, where it is 2D only

Best place to buy 3D version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thor-Ragnar...or+ragnarok+3d

original post:
Trailer has just come out and it looks great. Here's hoping they really push the 3D for this one as the series deserves it. I loved The Dark World but it could have done with stronger 3D.

Looks entertaining. The Hulk never really got along well with Thor.
I see Jeff Goldblum is in this also.
Yes, hopefully the 3D will be an improvement over the prior two Thor films. I hear Natalie Portman will not be a major character in this one, though no big deal IMO.

As a childhood collector of Marvel comics, I can't help but to see this movie, but I think Marvel might be one wink at the camera away from jumping the shark here. I know these movies weren't made for my generation, obvious from the Fantastic Four flops, so it may have appeal I can't see.

Damon, what is your favorite Marvel or DC movie of them all if you had to pick one to most closely represent the comic of your choice?

I would have to say the first Captain America movie seemed to make the least number of disagreeable changes. The Fantastic Four was my favorite comic as a child so that one angered me the most. But they all have unnecessary changes. For instance, Hank Pym (Antman) created Ultron, not Tony Stark, but of course Robert Downy Jr. needed more screen time I suppose.

Yep, the previous Thor films had dodgy 3D at Best. Solid movies though so I hope that continues with this new installment. And, I'd like the 3D to be better too! I'd prefer Portman is a major player though, her character made the first two films better IMO.

I remember the 3d being very meh in both, outside of the raid of the city Thor and co lived in which was some very nice 3d. But one segment out of two whole films isn't exactly great. It has been years since I saw either though, so maybe the rest was well done and just didn't stick with me (much like the films which where fine but to me unremarkable as they missed the many opportunities they set up for themself imo).

Also good news about Natalie being in it minimally if not outright gone. She felt forced into it beyond the love story, and the love story wasn't remarkable enough to be anything but a small side note in the sequel (which is why they probably felt like they had to force her into the plot).

Thor films having dodgy 3D may be the most under emphasized statement of the year. The second Thor movie is especially terrible in 3-D. A regrettable theatrical expenditure for me.

Thanks Damon. How did you like the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies? DC's Batman 1989 seemed mostly accurate despite some changes.

Thanks. I'm guessing they're dropping his love interest this round to focus on bigger concerns with his home planet of Asgard being threatened. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Yes, the city scene where the robot attacks has some nice, medium 3D layers in there even with some conversion errors back then. I have to watch those again in 3D. Dark World definitely could've pushed the 3D a lot more also.

We'll see how the 3D's handled in Thor 3.

I thought the Tobey Maguire Spider-man movies were pretty good. The casting was excellent in all three although the 3rd movie got a little weird and none of them were in 3d. The timeline was off, of course. They should have had Gwen Stacy killed by the original Green Goblin but they decided to have Mary Jane Watson as the love interest instead. The metal Green Goblin mask annoyed me too.

I never collected DC comics so I don't know about Batman.

This is not my experience at all on my passive 3-D 65" set. I was quite impressed with the depth added in many of the darker scenes, especially with the time/space warp. Maybe not pop-out reference quality, but certainly effective where it counted.

Sounds good! Can you tell us your display and Blu-ray-player model number?
Thanks.

Default Thor 3d

While I feel the original THOR had substandard 3D I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the conversion of THOR THE DARK WORLD. I felt it to be very immersive and totally engaging.

Thanks Damon for the reply. Yeah, I'm also a fan of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films. The new guy, Thomas Holland, in Spider-Man Homecoming 3D seems to capture some of Tobey's attitude and style, so I'm hopeful it'll be a fun continuation of the series.

On topic, I only read one Thor comic when I was a kid, but it was so long ago that I forget how close it was to the films. I have to dig that one up as I believe I still have it. I can understand wanting authenticity relating to the comics though, to see your favorite comic book turned into a live action movie accurately.

I didn't care for her at all and would FFWD through some of her scenes.

The part that has me worried, is that this is one of those releases where they mix in other characters and threads and so far I have no liked any of these comic movies except the ones that only focus on one of the heroes.
