Warner Bros The 15:17 to Paris (2018)

http://deadline.com/2017/04/clint-ea...os-1202073016/

EXCLUSIVE: Clint Eastwood has firmed the next film he will direct. He’ll helm a drama based on the book The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Heroes. The book was written by Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone and Jeffrey E. Stern; the life rights of the heroes Sadler, Skarlatos and Stone are part of the package. Newcomer scribe Dorothy Blyskal wrote the script, and Eastwood will begin casting right away to start production later this year. Eastwood will produce with Tim Moore, Kristina Rivera and Jessica Meier.

Jeez, still directing at 86 years old. Guess having purpose in one's life can have them live a while longer.

I honestly hope he can make it another decade and a half.

Great news! Sully was his best film in some time, so I'm definitely down for more Eastwood.

Meh.I'd prefer him directing a Fiction Film for once.
Sully was solid, but nothing more.

I think that Clint Eastwood's Hereafter is an underrated film. I love the idea that, at his age, Eastwood was exploring the mystical notions of what happens to us after our deaths.

I also think that Sully is his best film in quite a while, though.

To portray the heroes Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone, Clint Eastwood has hired... Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone.

Seriously?? Ugh. The chances of these three guys being able to act are slim. I don't think this is going to be very good.

Supposedly they're sizeable roles but not full-on leads since there are other actors portraying them throughout their younger years.

After seeing Sully recently, I'm looking forward to this. I only hope it's not structured the same way. Sully was great but I'm not crazy about the method of jumping around with flashbacks leading up to the moment the present days scenes are set after. Just tell the story linearly.

A little disappointed with that casting news, but I'm pretty sure it won't really impact my enjoyment of the movie.

has this ever been done before? non-fictional character in a movie played by the actual non-fictional person?

IIRC the main air traffic controller (can't remember his name) in United 93 was also played by the man himself. Possibly some others in that movie. But they're relatively small roles, not the main leads.

I haven't seen Sully as it just didn't really interest me, as far as the subject matter. But he's made a lot of very good films.

Act of Valor wasnt about specific people or events, but they cast actual active-duty Navy SEALS instead of actors.
