I know that studios make film masters of digitally made movies, but how do they archive the audio files?

Probably LTO and DLT.

I don't know how often film separation masters are made of digitally shot and/or finished movies, but they use LTO for archival purposes. The files have to be migrated every so often, since each generation of LTO is only backwards compatible for two generations at most.
