Looks possibly better than I thought could be. Reminds me of this Chinese VR short film, Sent, by Lightchaser Animation.

Thanks for that video link to that short animation.

A clever idea for a movie, though this being under Sony Animation, the same company not releasing Smurfs Lost Village on blu ray 3D in the US, along with Underworld and RE 3D.

I'll probably skip this one in theaters.

This also got a poor 3D score from Cinemablend, I won't be bothering with it.

I don't trust 3d reviews that give around a third of the marks for things that are not relevant to the viewed 3d experience (how it looks with glasses off is irrelevant and any film from any genre can use 3d to its benefit).

The film looks horrid though and one I can't imagine wanting to see, even if everyone was telling me it was the best 3d ever made and a complete game changer. The content always comes first, the presentation second. Plus there constant bickering about panning etc and the health score for 3d, how many people really have to take there glasses of when watching a 3d film for health reasons. I mean really, it is a poorly put together series of hacky articles I can't believe people still give any attention. It's up there with the reviews on this site given hugo a bad score in 3d because of the crosstalk issues they had.

I saw it in 2D but really want to see it in 3D. Some scenes seems like it would be great in 3D.

If it's still playing in 3D next week I may go see it just to support the format.

The movie looks mildly interesting, with the theme of breaking out of what's expected of you in life, and being true to yourself, as in this case, the Meh character wants to smile , but his parents tell him he needs to act like he's always unimpressed. Other than that though, it's not a movie I'd normally go to see unless someone told me it has strong 3D. Then I'd consider visiting the theater to check it out.

This one being from Sony.

Thanks. Would you say the 3D is mostly mild 3D layers, or mostly medium 3D layers as with Smurfs Lost Village, also by Sony Animation?

The entire thing was pretty mild. I checked periodically by lifting up the 3D glasses and barely a double image for most of it. A lot of the scenes just don't have enough in frame to be really effective with the 3D. The story revolves around the inner world of a smartphone so there was a lot of empty space with the backgrounds so even when there was some stronger 3D it just couldn't really pop.
It is currently getting 7% on rotten tomatoes but I honestly don't think it was all that bad.....but still it's just a meh kinda movie.

I forgot to add that before the movie started they played a 3D animated short called Puppy from the Hotel Transylvania franchise that was kinda good.

Not that this one is an Oscar contender but just so everyone is aware the international release of this movie has yet to happen in a lot of countries so a 3D release is most likely a ways off yet.

If this does get a 3D blu ray release I'd still get it after already seeing it in theaters. I'm certain it will look much better at home as they always have for me.
