If a monster is off screen destroying things and no one can see him is he still in 3D?

So WB describes this as a Monsterverse, interesting. That means Godzilla will clash with Kong, and possibly the Kaiju and giant Mechs of Pacific Rim?

Kong vs Godzilla in 2020 after this sequel.
No Pacific Rim connection.

WB won't skimp on the Kaiju this time, KONG proved that they learned from their mistakes on G14.

Sounds like they are trying to reprise the old Toho successes of the sixties and often that unintentionally turns out to be a spectacular piece of sophomoric rubbish because the producers are not imaginative like those at Toho were.

Okay, thanks. I remember del Toro of Pacific Rim (pacific Rim 2 3D planned for 2018), said he was considering bringing in Godzilla, but that was just a thought, much like his thoughts of Hellboy 3 and the high budget he wanted... Which sadly won't happen now that a Hellboy reboot is being considered.

I am interested to see where things go with the MonsterVerse. I would think they would stay away from certain story angles that Toho has used (aliens from other planets bring their monsters, time travel with androids). The main way I can see doing MechaGodzilla would be if Pacific Rim was linked into it. They end up creating a Mecha that is built to resemble Godzilla.

With King Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra being involved in the next film, there should be plenty of monster mashing on screen. Kind of surprised they'd put King Ghidorah in the next film, you'd think they'd save that if they're trying to build up to something. Although, I think they'll pull a Batman vs Superman setup since they have Godzilla vs. King Kong in 2020, have them team up later in the film to fight the big evil along with Rodan and Mothra (and hopefully Anguirus since he's my favorite of the sidekicks) instead of the next film.

I also hope they keep it grounded and remove any alien references even though that would be a deviation from the original source material. Ancient Earth monsters are much scarier than aliens any day but if they are involving cosmic beings I vote for Godzilla vs Cthulhu for 2022

Nice. I hope they have a bit more Godzilla in this one, but I still enjoyed Godzilla 2014 with good 3D (mostly medium with a few stronger shots indoors).

Is Ghidra the 3 headed dragon enemy? I forget his name exactly, though I have a bunch of Godzilla films over the years.

This looks like a dark setting film, so hopefully they really push the 3D to make up for the low lighting.

King Ghidorah. Though he was incorrectly called Ghidrah in the original dubbed and edited American release.

I haven’t been more excited for a movie than I am for this and the Godzilla vs King Kong in 2020. With today’s CGI technology these could be epic!

This looks like it could be a visual masterpiece if the 3d is done properly. And an entertaining monster movie based on the trailer.

But on a personal note, nothing will replace the original, 1953 Japanese version with the man in the rubber suit. Imaginative display of realism for the limited special effects of the time with a truly great screenplay. The US version, editing in Raymond Burr, whittled it down to a pure monster movie that did not attack the moral and political issues which was the main theme of the actual production.

Might give it a try simulated.

i was really disappointed in 2014's 'Godzilla'. thought it was a snooze.

'Kong Skull Island' was much better. a lot of fun.

unfortunately the sense i'm getting is this is more like the former than the later.
