![]() ![]() Stereographs: 3D Portals to the Past Episode One: Photographs from the American Civil War Era Volume One In 3D Blu-ray So during some random amazon searching I stumbled onto this. I didn't know anything about it so I did some googling. Stereographs Blu-ray turned up nothing, same with helicon digital arts, but searching for Glenn Bonat did turn up something. His Facebook profile, a profile on Television and Motion Picture Network which seems to be an industry networking/resume type site, and a profile on a forum called EOSHD. Not a lot to go on other than he does care about 3D and seems to know what he's doing. I'm definitely interested in things like this but for $25 I'd like to know more about it. How well the photos were restored, how they're presented, is there a decent variety? The Amazon listing says "Prepare To Step Into History! Stereographs: 3D Portals To The Past Presents Episode One: Photographs From The American Civil War Era Volume One in 3-Dimensions . Travel Back In Time & Immerse Yourself In These Amazing Images From The American Civil War Era. Explore The Past As Never Before As Helicon Digital Arts Presents Hundreds Of Incredible Stereoscopic Images Restored & Enhanced For High Definition Viewing! See These Images Come Alive In Full Motion 3-D For The First Time Ever On 3D Blu-ray." That "full motion" bit probably means panning and zooming, but if they're talking about doing limited animation on the photos I'm out. I've seen that on some History Channel stuff and hate it. I would also like to know if the photos are also presented as-is somewhere on the disk. Panning and zooming can work well as a presentation, but I'd like the opportunity to look at the more impressive photos without it after watching it once. If anyone has picked this up I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Last edited by Deciazulado; 01-20-2018 at 12:15 PM. |
