Australia Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D/UHD/Blu-ray, November, 2017

I spoke with Universal Sony Home Entertainment Australia customer service about this title this morning, and was told that there is a listing in their database for October 4th.

The Abyss seems to have been partially converted at the very least in strong 3d. It was in Deadsea Challenge 3d (looks amazing). Besides the fact this happening in no way is the cause for the abyss not being released on blu yet.

They may have a planned 3d release but that didn't stop T2 releasing on blu-ray, more then once in fact.

Any idea if there is likely to be a new standard blu-ray released too?
I'd be down for that for sure

A new standard Blu-ray version is being released on the same date. However, they didn't tell me whether it's a new remastered disc, or just the old disc repackaged. They might not have that info yet.

A new DNR-free 4K scan would certainly be nice.

I know.. it just annoys me that certain movies get constant re-releases in various configurations and yet other films just sit there in Blu-ray purgatory... The Abyss has never really had any home video love... I mean the DVD is non-anamorphic for god sake... anyway... The Abyss is Fox and this is Universal Sony... so my rant is misplaced anyway...

yay for UHD T2 anyways!!!!

Bad to the bone!

God I hope the 4K is done right... and it's the Special Edition cut.

Not in the Australian and New Zealand sub-forum, therefore we'll talk about them here, or create our own thread for them in this sub-forum, if we see fit

You're about five months late, but thanks for playing

Have you seen this?

I don't know what to think really.. i'm not really liking the change regardless if it's "fixing" an error.

Looks like the same teal-wash that was done on the first one.. hopefully that's just for the 3D version.

Actually I wonder if he's taken the opportunity to fix the glaringly obvious visible stunt-doubles during that sequence? The shots when the T800 does that bike-jump off the high ledge and when he grabs John off the dirtbike are some of the worst instances of visible doubles in the history of cinema, along with that one in Blade Runner which was fixed in the Final Cut edition.
