Can't wait to get this! Day 1, definitely. Don't have 4K equipment but there's no harm in future-proofing

I'm sort of done collecting steelbooks now but I do kind of hope we get similar packaging to the US release. Either way, I just can't wait to own this!

Yup pre-ordered too. Likewise I hope this mirrors the US release.

As with a lot of preorders on Amazon UK for 4K, they arrive at RRP and decrease once other stores have the product listed. I've put a preorder in but fully expect it to go down before release - probably to £44.99. Any higher than that and they'd better retain the tin...

Do we know for sure that we in the UK will be getting a metal tin for the packaging at this point? The Amazon page doesn't mention it as far as I can see.

No we don't, but I imagine we probably will. It's not like it's an exclusive steelbook - in which case we probably wouldn't, since Warner UK holds all those back for 3D releases. It sounds like the tin used in Band of Brothers and The Pacific, both of which we got over here.

EDIT: The Amazon page also doesn't list much at all, and claims the disc count is 1. Guessing as we get a little nearer we'll know for sure. I'll keep my preorder unless something drastically makes the UK version inferior or whatever. Can always cancel down the line!

Pretty much all UK 4K releases are overpriced though, and Warner ones especially. I can't see this going below £44.99 for a while.

Amazon should price match that in due course, I was well prepared to pay £60 but £45 is much better. The UV code should fetch a nice price too.

I haven't seen this series yet. Saw the movie from 1973 many years ago. Is the new tv series worth a look? If so maybe I will wait for the 4K release.

It definitely is worth a look if you're into sci-fi, it's themes are truly mind-bending. The visuals will surely look amazing in UHD.

Thanks Aliendejoe, I will watch the first episode and if I like it, I will have to decide to keep watching or wait for the 4k release

Mind you: it gets a bit slow after the first episodes. But the finale is arguably the best one of the season.

Well I watched the entire first season and really enjoyed it. I will be buying it now when the 4K release comes out. Watching via on demand with Spectrum and the massive compression is wearing thin on me and Westworld at times had lots of macroblocking going on in the darker scenes watching it this way...so 4K version will find a spot on my shelf

Was this show shot and produced on 4k? Not that that necessarily matters because there are pretty amazing looking 2k DI UHD discs out there.
