I tried a search on this, but didn't come up with anything specific.

How is this movie?

I'm a big fan of films like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Steam Boy, Armitage III, and more. Is Appleseed as good?

I liked Appleseed alot but watch your subwoofer level!!! Both the DTS and DD tracks have overblown LFE. I wanna know if the ex-machina is as good or better.

I'll be giving this a shot, hopefully it sells well and encourages a sooner English Ghost in the Shell release.

I liked the first movie a lot. Will buy this for sure. Even if it was just a re-release of the first one I would buy it.

Ex Machina is a new movie/sequel, not the previous one

And neither one as as good as the original OVA unfortunately

I really like the first film, so I'm looking forward to the Blu-ray release of Ex Machina. I just hope the North American release will be region free.

Got to see it last year when it played here for a film festival. I missed Paprika when it played here in 2006 so I made sure I didn't miss this one. The director Shinji Aramaki did a little Q & A after the movie (John Woo was supposed to be there but he had a previous engagement). The first 15 minutes were pretty awesome. Overall it was pretty good. I thought the ending was a little overwhelming. You will definitely see John Woo's influence in the action sequences (I kinda chuckled when I saw his signature white doves).

Can't comment on the PQ cause the film had a lot (and I mean a lot!) of scratches and stuff. The first half hour had a vertical line going down the right side. As soon as that disappeared, another one showed up on the left side. Very annoying. The sound was pretty aggressive. Very techno-ish.

I'm sure the BD will be great. Thank you Warner!

any anime on blu is an automatic buy for me especially appleseed and plus since it is warner that is releasing it so got to help warner out as much as possible

well you said it was a warner release yourself and they have yet to region lock a title so im just going by that.
