Has anyone had any issues with picture quality watching the new episodes of Game of Thrones with HBO España?
I recently joined HBO and I was hoping to get the best possible online presentation to watch the new season of Game of Thrones but I find the image quality quite disappointing. I feel like I'm not getting proper 1080p out of my Apple TV and dark scenes are downright awful looking, plagued with banding issues. Our connection is pretty decent and other streaming services look really good. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way. |

It definitely looks quite compressed.
Yesterday I ran some tests and compared HBO to a 1080p downloaded version coming from Amazon (?) and the difference is quite noticeable. HBO's image is definitely far more compressed. I also watched Silicon Valley and the credits look terrible, so many compression artefacts. This is quite disappointing compared to other streaming services, I don't think I'll be renewing my subscription… |
