Hello,
I cannot seem to find the best answer to this question. I currently have an LG OLED65C6P. My receiver from 2014 I didn't do enough research on and thought because it said 4K and HDMI 2.0 that I was set for the future. But I'm not because it's not HDCP 2.2 compliant. I have an Xbox One S that I will be using as my UHD player and I do not want to lose audio fidelity as a result. HDMI ARC on this TV does not support Dolby Digital Plus. I'm assuming this limitation also extends to DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD as well. And I'm also under the impression that the Optical output would not give full resolution audio. Would an HDMI Splitter with HDCP 2.2 be the best option so I can run one cable to the TV for video and the other to the receiver for audio? If so, does anyone have any particular suggestions? There appear to be several out there but most people want to split the video to two different displays whereas I have no use for that. In an ideal world I'd either be purchasing a standalone UHD player with two outputs or getting a new receiver but sadly my world is less than ideal for the moment. Any help is greatly appreciated! |
