Question Free-To-Air Satellite

Does anyone here have hi-def free-to-air satellite and how do you like it?

I don't have one, but lots of people at work do. They love it until Dish zaps them. It just blew up on them the other day, supposedly this latest change is going to be a tough nut for the FTA guys to crack...

do you mean like just an OTA HD antenna (some TV's already have built in tuner or you can connect to satellite receivers)? or an actual stand alone HD tuner?

Ive used both, and they work about equal. Depending on your location and surroundings, it can be hard to keep a solid signal, but when its good its GREAT.

DISHNetwork does not provide local HD channels in my area, so I have to get free OTA channels.

No cracking im pretty sure he does not mean that, and if i was a mod i would lock or delete this. As it is in some peoples eye's illegal, we would not want this site related to it in anyway possible.

P.S. Pretty much a receiver(satellite box) that you can hook up a satellite antenna to it and get free satellite channels out of it.

FTA is not pirating. There are quite a few Free to Air HD satellite channels floating around up there along with countless MPEG and a few analog SD channels as well. I used to have a pretty nice c-band setup but never really got into the FTA stuff because I switched over to dish to simplify things.

PQ was leaps and bounds above anything provided in HD and certainly SD on any little dish or cable.

It's only illegal if the signal is encrypted.

Well the c-band stuff is legal. But come on who are we kidding most people use the box and get the codes from somewhere **line and do what is NOT legal. But yes there are free ones.
